Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Rated R for depiction of strong thematic material.

There is a rape scene which cuts off before any sexual activity happens, showing no nudity either. There is a sex scene between a husband and wife which is shown via the mirror in their bedroom. They are both clothed as the wife straddles her husband and then tells him to get on top of her. The scene cuts off pretty quickly.

There are several scenes in which abortion is committed, the setting for which is always the bedroom of the pregnant women. They are told to take off their knickers beforehand. These scenes are not graphic, and no nudity is shown other than the women's bare legs and, on one occasion, the shadowy darkness of a woman's underwear. The dialogue indicates that the women are having an instrument inserted into them.

No Problems

Very Very little language. There are a few British swear words but other than that, pretty much nothing. Very unusual for a R Rated movie. This movie is purely rated R because of the subject it talks about. This movie is not for children!!

There is some mild social drinking, and smoking.

This whole movie is considered intense because of how the happiness is completely sucked out of the main character throughout the movie. (and it gets worse towards the end) Unless you have already explained to your child this subject and they already understand it, DO NOT SHOW YOUR LITTLE CHILDREN THIS MOVIE!!
