Robert Hiltzik's entire movie career has basically been in telling one story, that of Sleepaway Camp. Hiltzik wrote and directed the original, as well as Return to Sleepaway Camp. So who better to discuss Sleepaway Camp's move to Blu-ray from Scream Factory on May 27 than Robert Hiltzik himself.
Hiltzik recently sat down with Dread Central to talk about some interesting aspects of this horror staple, which was released in 1983. "I was in graduate film school at the time and I wanted to do my own film," Hiltzik said, when discussing the origins of the movie. Like many horror movies of the 1980s Sleepaway Camp has not escaped the possibility of a remake for today’s audiences. The movie has been in development and talked about for some time, but it looks like it may be on the backburner according to original director Robert Hiltzik.

But whether or not that will actually pan out is still in the air.”
But it looks like this isn’t the end for the adventures of Angela Baker. “I will say there is »

The flavor of bile is unmistakable. There just isn’t anything that tastes quite like it. And you know it when it comes on: The belly rumbles, the esophagus lurches within, and you battle back the slimy liquid that threatens to spew forth from your lips.
It’s a nasty experience. We all hate that sensation so we’re taking measures at Dread Central to help prevent such a situation from occurring.
See, there are horror sequels out there that are so horrifically bad they somehow trigger something in our internal systems... and the belly begins to rumble. We wish you no stomach troubles here, and we certainly wish the taste of bile on no man or woman. So we’re going to provide you with a list of sequels to avoid at all costs because if you check these out, you’ll be searching for the toothbrush in no time! »
