A full sequence apart of the Extended Cut only: Silas (Paul Bettany) remembers back to when he was physically and emotionally abused, drove a knife into his father's back, & when he was put into an Arabian prison. This is where the extended cut starts from. Silas, in his prison cell, is shown reading a Bible as the building starts to rumble and break apart (Most likely due to an earthquake), killing some of the inmates and guards (off-screen). Silas walks outside after the chaos, and looks around the demolished courtyard; Castle battlements, and flags are shown. Experiencing heat exhaustion, Silas collapses onto the ground where he is then shown looking at a tall, dark figure hovering over him; Extended Cut ends here. Silas is shown sleeping in shock on a bed inside a church, and the tall man, Bishop Aringarosa (Alfred Molina) gives him some medicine. The next shot shows Silas waking up to a man yelling in Spanish. He goes downstairs to find Aringarosa beat up and bloodied. Silas breaks the neck of one of the intruders (neck break IS audible), and chokeholds the other one. Silas then walks over to the Bishop, and is called "An Angel" by the Bishop himself. Flashback ends, & Silas enters a church. Intense and Disturbing
There are several quick shots of flashbacks (In the Extended Cut) that pertain to Silas' murders: Killing a nun (Bloody), slitting the throat of one guy (Briefly Gory/Graphic), among other instances... Intense to watch
