Revealing mistakes

The movie is supposed to take place around the time of Hanukkah, which can occur from late November to late December. The kids are often dressed in winter coats and scarves, but there are leaves on the trees, the shrubs are in full foliage, and the grass is green. The leaves are usually gone from the trees in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where the movie is supposed to take place, by the end of October.
