Satire of Hollywood Melodramas and television Soap Operas, revolving around the eccentric characters that get together for an Irish Wake in Hollywood. Unfortunately, everyone is too caught up in their only problems to even care about the dead. Alisa Fox, the daughter, learns more about her dead father than she wanted to know; her divorced alcoholic mother, Judith Phillips, is dating a man less than half her age, who may or may not be gay; and her daughter Julia is pregnant, but unsure who the father is. Meanwhile, Alisa's best friend Mandy Rosen, a best-selling romance novelist, can't seem to find romance of her own, and once again falls for the wrong guy in screenwriter Craig Filmore; Alisa's ex-husband Danny realizes he still has feelings for her; the bulimic widow, Krystal, has a few secrets she wants to get off her chest; an ex-lover of the deceased, Bunny Monroe, comes to blackmail Alisa; while Julia's boyfriend Billy can't seem to get over his cocaine problem, putting a damper on their already complicated relationship. In the midst of it all are the two sarcastic maids, Constance and Marie, who observe everyone quietly... It's a tale of backstabbing, blackmail, lies, love, and missing pastries.
