One of my all-time favorite outings growing up was when my dad took me to the movies. Nothing compared to being transported into an imaginary world while munching on popcorn and discussing our opinions afterward. Flash forward to 2004. My husband and I took our firstborn daughter to see Curious George in theaters while I was nine months pregnant with our second child. Taking a two-year-old meant lots of worries were running through our minds during this first-time adventure: Will she be able to sit through it? Will we have to walk out? Will it make her cry? In fact, it was one of the most magical parenting moments that neither my husband nor I will ever forget. As the lights went down and the screen lit up, so did our toddler daughter's face. Reaching for...

★★★☆☆ In the ever-watchable Chimpanzee (2012), Blue Planet producers Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield transport us to the Ivorian rainforests of Taï National Park, where we are introduced to three-month-old Oscar - a cheeky ape who gains an unexpected ally when he's faced with more than his fair share of troubles from a rival group of chimps. As is to be expected from a Disney Nature-backed documentary, the tone is light throughout as we witness the daily trials and tribulations of life below the canopy. The level is set (and kept) at 'pleasingly chirpy', with a heavy injection of anthropomorphism given to the travailing troop.
American actor Tim Allen's merry, if at times rather corny narration keeps this rather short, feature-length tale chortling along, referring to the oldest chimpanzee as 'Grandpa' and crowbarring in jokes seemingly swiped from his 1990s TV show Home Improvement. At times, this approach results in »

These days, our knowledge of celebrities too often originates with paparazzi images and snarky quotes by anonymous "insiders." After a while, it's easy to forget that stars are real people. That's why HuffPost Celebrity decided to launch its all-new #nofilter quick-fire question-and-answer series. Because how well do you know someone until they've shared their guiltiest pleasures?
Tiffani Thiessen not only plays an event planner on USA's "White Collar"; the actress knows how to throw a party in real life, too. In honor of Earth Day, Thiessen teamed with Glad to host a bash celebrating its "One Bag" initiative, after which only one bag of trash was sent to landfill and the rest went to compost and recycling. We caught up with Thiessen, 39, to talk about her environmental efforts, bizarre fan mail and the many memorable storylines of "Saved By The Bell."

"The Fast and the Furriest" was a wonderful combination of both funny and sweet moments.
It was another Perlmutter episode and as much as I love Lanie, Perlmutter is a completely different kind of fun. Here, he was definitely the perfect foil for Castle's Big Foot theories. Added points for making me laugh when he called Esposito and Ryan The B Team.
I liked that they didn't jump to Big Foot right away. First they went with the crazy monkey theories, which led to Ryan's adorable revelation as he shared his childhood love for his favorite primate in this Castle quote…
Ryan: I always wanted a pet monkey when I was a kid. Big Curious George fan.
Castle: Wait 'til George grows up. An adult chimpanzee can reach 200 lbs, tear off a man's face, hands, and naughty bits. | permalink

The MTV Movie Awards proved a point last night: They're the least pretentious award show in existence, but with hardcore star power and a healthy amount of the absurd. Just like Taylor Lautner's pecs. Bless.
Host Rebel Wilson's greatest asset was her willingness to say, do, or potentially dryhump anything. After an explosive opening featuring Pitch Perfect's players and their interpretations of "Lose Yourself," "Girl on Fire," "The Climb," and "Thrift Shop," Rebel approached the mic in what can only be described as a pleather catsuit worthy of both Lee Meriwether and Frederick's of Hollywood.
"I'm surprised I was asked to host," she deadpanned. "And so was [MTV]. They thought I was Adele." Ok. Very cute.

Parents sometimes think that if a movie is rated PG, even a kindergartener could handle it. And while that may be the case for some PG-rated movies, it's certainly not the case for "Oz the Great and Powerful." Yes, it's fine for tweens in their last years of elementary school, but for the single-digit set, it will really depend on how susceptible they are to frights. Director Sam Raimi has made a visual spectacle full of vibrant landscapes and kitschy set pieces. James Franco plays the ambitious magician nicknamed Oz who doesn't want to settle down with a sweetie and be a good Kansas man; he wants glory and greatness. After an entertaining black-and-white sequence that sets up Oz's reputation as the Casanova of the traveling carnival circuit, a tremendous twister whisks his hot air balloon away to a mysterious (and colorful) and new land -- that just happens to bear his name. »

Well, this is unpleasant. Glee's Mark Salling is being sued by an ex-girlfriend for sexual battery. She says she insisted on condoms for their private moments, but he didn't comply. Then when she went to confront him, she found him in bed with someone else, leading to a push and a police report.

The furry red toddler will live on.
Elmo will remain a major character on "Sesame Street." Though he seems to be everywhere, Elmo is not the official face of PBS Kids, Paula A. Kerger, president and CEO of PBS, says in a wide-ranging one-on-one with Zap2it.
"I think about Kevin a lot, and his commitment to 'Sesame Street' and the work he does and how he loves the work," Kerger says about Kevin Clash, who resigned after repeated accusations that he had sex with underage boys. "That is why he made the decision to step back. He is extraordinarily talented and this is extraordinarily sad."
"PBS Kids has not shied away from using Elmo," she says, adding that few people realize which character trumps him. "Curious George is actually the No. 1 show of PBS Kids."
Other children's shows such as "SuperWHY," "Word Girl" and "Cat in the »
