I Can See Why It Got Canceled
13 February 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

While I do love the Diresta Brothers and their work, I can definitely see why this show got canceled. The idea of the show is that John Diresta finds a person who wants a project done but who has little to no money to do it with. When the goal is set he and his brother Jimmy go garage saleing and dumpster diving to find materials for the renovation. John does the talking and provides the comic relief while Jimmy (the true genius) does all of the making and building.

I will start by saying while I did like the show, their later works are much better like the series Hammered and Dirty Money. This show focuses less on the building process than the later shows which is definitely a downer. The scenarios in each episode are set ups and are clearly not "reality." Their other shows have a much more interesting premises with less home remolding type projects and more building cool stuff to whatever it fits best as and not for a specific function. While John is a funny guy, his humor in this was unnecessarily crude, not always in good taste, and somewhat repetitive.
