Being from Michigan I really enjoy seeing places I'm familiar with, but that being said this is still a really good show. It's been said that some of the material is disturbing. And who wouldn't agree that scenes of animal cruelty aren't disturbing. But we all need to realize this kind of information is important to get out. People need to be made aware of the kinds of things being done to animals so more resources will be put into putting a stop to as much of this as possible. Crimes against humans is a separate issue and shouldn't enter into the discussion of animal cruelty. Pets need protection from cruelty by humans and the dedicated members of the MHS do amazing work without enough people or resources. This show and others like it from New York, Houston, and Miami help call attention to growing problem of animal cruelty. And while some of what's shown can be upsetting these agencies work hard to help salvageable animals recover and find homes. The shows are a mix of the sadness involved in animal cruelty and the very heart warming happy endings that many of the animals are involved in. Most of the people involved with the animal protection agencies are very interesting to watch as well. I myself would like to see more the Detroit episodes, but if that can't be then Animal Cops from any city should be a regular series on Animal Planet. This message needs to get out to the public on a regular basis with the hope it will help generate more support for these agencies, and this mission.
