I figured since this movie will probably never be seen again on TV or anywhere else, I may as well get in to details, so...SPOILER!!! Wow. I watched this movie solely because Lucy "Boy who could Fly" Deakins was in it, and I was a fan of hers as a youngster. The premise of the story is simple: girl--a young photographer, likes boy, girls gets date to prom with boy, boy stands her up (either directly or through miscommunication), girl fights back. And she does it the best way us Americans know how, by suing the pants off the guy, using the pink prom dress as evidence and demanding the judge award her an apology. What follows is a glimpse into the social hole the girl finds herself in as talk of the suit rips through the school (eeee-gad!) and the whole town begins to take sides in the matter (including newspaper journalists who don't bother to mince words for our poor heroine). In the end, it is not clear whether her disappearing stud truly regrets the happenings, but she forgives him anyway as whole experience has made her a bit more enlightened.
Not a bad story. Made in 1990,it does reek with leftovers of cheese from the decade before. In short, it illustrates the saying well. "Hell hath no fury..."
