Did You Know?

Heirs of Gen. Gregorio H. del Pilar objected the casting of Romnick Sarmenta to play the lead role. They considered Romnick as unsuitable for the role, citing that the actor used to star in bold movies. They said that it might tarnish the image of the young general. But the producers maintained Romnick due to this youthful resemblance to the real life general. See more »

A Film about a man who defied a Superpower
26 December 2005 | by (Philippines) – See all my reviews

Gregorio Del Pilar was a man whose skill and strength can be compared to Alexander the Great and Edward the Black Prince. He was only in his early twenties when he took part in the Filipino Revolution. He defeated the Spanish in a number of battles and was promoted many times because of this.He loved his country so much that he was willing to give his life for it.He was still young those time. And when the Americans invaded,he defiantly fought them, despite the fact that they are invincible. He killed on of their high-ranking officers in a famous battle. But his last stand was Tirad Pass, also called the Philippine Thermopolae. In that place,he fought bravely, but in the end he died. This movie portrays it clearly his brave deeds, and it is an honor to watch it.
