Melissa McCarthy Might Not Be A Guarantee For Ghostbusters

20 October 2014 4:40 PM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

It's not hard to see how simple logic would lead a person to believe that Melissa McCarthy will star in the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot. The actress is not only one of the most popular comediennes working in features today - making her an easy fit for the all-female cast - and she has a good amount of experience collaborating with director Paul Feig, having starred in his last two films (Bridesmaids and The Heat). But while it makes all the sense in the world that McCarthy would be joining the cast, nothing has been made official at this point. McCarthy was recently a guest on The Ellen Show, and addressed the subject of the Ghostbusters reboot while sitting down with host Ellen DeGeneres and fellow guest Lena Dunham. During the conversation, DeGeneres made the insinuation that McCarthy was already signed on for the franchise project, but the Tammy star instantly »

Robert Downey Jr. backtracks on Iron Man 4 confirmation

8 October 2014 2:05 PM, PDT | TotalFilm | See recent TotalFilm news »

Yesterday we brought you news that Robert Downey Jr. had confirmed his involvement with Iron Man 4, having revealed as much on The Ellen Show. However, later that very same night, Downey also appeared on The Late Show where he told David Letterman that he would not be involved in the project after all. When posed the question by the host, Downey not only said that there was no script in place, but also that he had no intention of donning the suit for a fourth solo movie. “Just between us, no,” said the star, when asked whether...

Robert Downey Jr., Please Confirm Iron Man 4 Already

7 October 2014 12:30 PM, PDT | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

Before joking that he'd do Iron Man 4 if Mel Gibson directed (which he has since made very clear was in fact a joke), Robert Downey Jr. talked frankly with Deadline about his apprehensions about continuing to play Iron Man, asking, "What’s the half-life of people enjoying a character?" He also explained that, at his age, he can't really fit in other projects and young kids between Marvel movies like he used to. Still, when asked flat-out about it on The Ellen Show, Rdj admitted that he's "in the middle of a negotiation" with Marvel to continue to be part of the franchise. Ellen pushed to make sure that meant another Iron Man, and Rdj said "yes" because he's a people-pleaser. Also, in a Reddit Ama he held today, he said, "Sooner than later the Marvel Roster will be made public and all questions will be answered." Does that mean »

Robert Downey Jr. Confirms 'Iron Man 4' Is Happening!

7 October 2014 12:18 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Robert Downey Jr. made it official on the Ellen: The Ellen DeGeneres Show today. Yes, Iron Man 4 is happening!

The actor says that negotiations are still ongoing for his return in what will be his 7th featured role in a Marvel movie, and his 9th appearance as Tony Stark altogether. So he's careful not to confirm he is returning outright. When Ellen DeGeneres asks the question if there will be an Iron Man 4, Robert Downey Jr. responds:

"I know there's going to be a bunch more Marvel movies. And they have big ideas of how to do it best and we're in the middle of negotiation..."

After Ellen DeGeneres prompts him for a true answer, the actor finally gives in and says what everyone has wanted to hear:

"Okay, yes!"

He also had this to say about the movie on his recent Reddit Ama, addressing the idea that Mel Gibson »

Robert Downey Jr. Dismisses “Mel Gibson Directing Iron Man 4” Comments But Confirms Film Is in Development; Talks Sherlock 3 and More

7 October 2014 11:45 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Robert Downey Jr. is quite the popular guy, so it’s no surprise that his Ama on reddit was a heavily populated affair.  Downey Jr. took some time to answer a number of different questions in promotion of his upcoming drama The Judge, and during the course of the Ama he touched on a number of issues.  Chiefly, Downey Jr. dismissed his recent comment about starring in Iron Man 4 if Mel Gibson directs as a simple offhanded remark (as was made clear in the context of the full interview; not sure why everyone started reporting this as fact in the first place).  He also touched on the likelihood of making an appearance on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the status of Sherlock Holmes 3, a noir-tinged Perry Mason project that he’s developing, and he even made brief mention of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Additionally, while appearing on The Ellen Show Downey »

26 September 2014 11:53 AM, PDT | The Wrap | See recent The Wrap news »

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt would totally be that couple who play pranks on each other, and they proved it on Friday during Faris’ appearance on “The Ellen Show.” Faris came up with the idea to call her husband, who was in Yankee Stadium watching Derek Jeter's last home game, live on the air, pretending that she's getting arrested. Unfortunately, Pratt never picked up his phone, so Faris and Ellen Degeneres leave him a prank voicemail instead. 'Apparently Kid' Noah Ritter Says His New Favorite Word Is Seriously On 'Ellen'

11 September 2014 9:00 PM, PDT | Uinterview | See recent Uinterview news »

Noah Ritter, better known as “Apparently Kid,” stopped by The Ellen Show to chat about the perils of riding the bus home from school, dinosaurs and his new favorite word.

Apparently Kid On Ellen

Ellen DeGeneres introduced the five-year-old Ritter, "Apparently our first guest is an internet sensation and apparently his video has over 15 million views, apparently." DeGeneres then showed a clip of the Pennsylvania native in the short video that made him an overnight Internet sensation. While attending a state fair with his grandfather, Ritter gave the local reporter the interview of a lifetime, talking enthusiastically about a ride he'd just gone on and how it was his first time on live TV – saying apparently almost every other word.

When Ritter took the couch opposite DeGeneres, he exclaimed, "This is my first time on a talk show! My first time on a talk show!"

'Magic Mike Xxl' Production Begins With Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer

3 September 2014 9:00 PM, PDT | Uinterview | See recent Uinterview news »

Magic Mike Xxl, the sequel to the sexy Channing Tatum drama Magic Mike, has officially begun production.

Channing Tatum Begins Filming Magic Mike Xxl

Tatum, who produced and developed 2012’s Magic Mike based on his own experiences as a male stripper, is, of course, returning for the sequel, which will follow his rag-tag team of stripper buddies as they road trip to a stripper convention. The stripper convention was actually one of the early seeds for Magic Mike, but was deemed too big and crazy for the low-budget film.

Magic Mike director Steven Soderbergh is back for the sequel, though he has officially passed on his director’s chair to Gregory Jacobs, a frequent Soderbergh collaborator. Instead, Soderbergh will be acting as director of photography, camera operator and film editor for Magic Mike Xxl. “I want to be there, but I don’t want to be the director. I want »

TV Land prexy Larry Jones said the show was a good fit with the “Gen Xers” the cabler is targeting. “We love Jim Gaffigan’s brand of humor,” Jones said. »

Chandler Massey Wins Third Daytime Emmy Award, Endures Epic F*ck-Up

22 June 2014 8:39 PM, PDT | The Backlot | See recent The Backlot news »

You know, you dream about a moment like this watching a live awards show, and when it happens, you don’t know what to say.

One of those moments happened tonight during The 41st Daytime Emmy Awards.

But let’s go back a bit, to the Red Carpet pre-show, which was such a clusterf*ck of bad cues, missed lines, and giggling presenters, I was convinced everyone involved must have thought it a dress rehearsal. In the closing moments, someone shouted out “Sorry if my nipples fell out.” I was hoping it was Chandler Massey, but he was a no-show before the program (and if the red carpet seemed rushed, it was probably because they had to get it back to Crazy Ray’s Rug Rentals before 10 Pm)

That’s how … low budget … this show was. Another clue? When the show started and Kathy Griffin began her monologue, the livestream »
