Ron Jeremy makes a believable, non-porno appearance in this dark, dream-like erotic thriller. He's only on screen for a minute or two, but it was a surprise to see him acting Down Under.A woman travels to the big city to reignite a relationship with an old flame. Everything goes to hell in a handbasket because the old flame is now a card-carrying criminal. An original title sequence (shades of Bava's BLOOD AND BLACK LACE) gives way to a stylishly shot and directed thriller that could have been more violent in order to truly succeed as a thriller. Still, it's fun to watch the plot unwind and the ladies undress. The film's final half hour has an unusual, low key momentum and is highly effective because there is almost no dialogue. A catfight on the beach ends proceedings nicely and a visual coda, established in the film's prologue, comes full circle.Inspired, I'd guess, by Lynch's MULHOLLAND DRIVE and Cronenberg's CRASH.Worth noting is the excellent score by Bon Nardella.
