Meera all the way!
savinson_saint_satan22 August 2007
All actors were well casted. The first song can be remembered for a long time and is the best song of the movie.Jayasurya does a good job with his jokes and actually gives a better performance than the other two who did average acting.Meera Jasmine is the best thing about this movie.Predictable story line but it captured the hearts of the youth. So far youth movies from him i.e nammal and now swapnakoodu have been hits and in my opinion only he can make the best youth oriented Mal movies. Prithviraj was known as a style icon in malayalam cinema after this movie. An average film overall with good songs.Bhavana looked pretty but did her role justice.Cochin haneefa is the surprise element in this movie. He may not be as you think. His best role so far.

A very enjoyable movie...

Directed by Kamal, this movie centers around Kunjunju (Prithviraj), Deepak Narayanan (Kunchacko Boban), and Ashtamoorthy (Jayasurya), who are in Pondicherry studying Hotel Management. Each of them are different in the way they look at life: Kunjunju is a flirt who makes a pass at every girl he meets; Deepu is a calm and cool guy who is never able to express his true feelings; and Ashtmoorthy is a funny person who doesn't take anything serious. When their friend, Abbas (Vijesh), finds them a suitable accommodation, they find they have to share a house where a mother (Kalaranjini) and her two daughters are staying. One can expect what happens when two teenage girls and three bachelors live together!

All three guys try to win the heart of Kamala (Meera Jasmine) who is a florist. Deepu buys flowers from her almost everyday and is madly in love with her, but does not express it. Ashtamoorthy makes a fool of him and ends up as her "rakhi" brother. Meanwhile Kunjunju who starts on the wrong foot with her finds himself bowled over by her charms. Who will Kamala choose? Watch and find out...

Warning: Spoilers
A youth story that focuses on style rather than substance. The story lets the star cast down. What starts out as a promising movie ends up making you wonder why you even hope?

When Kamala falls for Achayan, you are left wondering why? After all the pain taken to build her character as a girl with common sense and street sense, her falling for Achayan is way out of character and leaves the viewer feeling cheated.

Prithviraj is capable and goes through the motions without effort.

Bhavana is a breath of fresh air. I haven't seen any of her other movies, but she definitely has a presence that is pleasing and engaging.

Meera Jasmine, Jayasurya and Haneefa are the only saving graces in a movie that could have been much, much, much better.

The movie tries to be everything to everybody and ends up not pleasing anybody. It could have been the 'Dil Chahtha Hai' of the Malayalam industry, but it fails to deliver.
