In writer/director Quentin Tarantino's 2004 revenge action thriller, 'Beatrice' (Uma Thurman) aka 'The Bride' embarks on a slice 'n dice rampage, to take out the 'Deadly Vipers' gang of killers that left her for dead on her wedding day.
Unfortunately her quest is near-terminated by 'Budd', the brother of 'Bill' who shoots her in the chest and, with the help of 'Elle Driver', buries Bea in a coffin - alive.
Recalling the teachings of her master 'Pai Mei', and her struggles in punching through a wooden board,
Last week, I received a mysterious call from Josh Raffel at Blumhouse Productions, who invited me to a secretive event to be held tonight, May 23rd, and other than providing me with a time, that’s all the information I was given. Once I arrived tonight, along with a select group of journalists, the mystery was finally revealed with the announcement of a new partnership behind a brand new Halloween, which is bringing together Miramax, Blumhouse Productions, Trancas International’s Malek Akkad (longtime producer of the Halloween franchise), as well as legendary Master of Horror John Carpenter in an executive producer role for the film. And if all goes well, Jason Blum
Want a quality action film, but you only have an hour and a half? Step this way...
Looking back over the genre, action films definitely haven’t suffered from the trend to make everything longer. They’ve always been pretty long, regularly clocking in at over two hours. Perhaps because of all the slo-mo? But while the sweet spot for action classics seems to be the 100-110 minute mark, there are those that have cut the genre right down to basics, and succeeded all the more for it.
Below is my pick of 25 great action films 90 minutes or under. Even more so than other genres, action crosses many other films - picking a pure ‘action’ flick is all but impossible. So below I’ve chosen films that retain action sequences as their main narrative device, and keep the action at the heart of the movie, rather than as a extra.

Before Harvey Weinstein introduced "Quentin Tarantino's leading lady, Uma Thurman" at The Hateful Eight brunch with Jennifer Jason Leigh and Walton Goggins, I spoke with Samuel L Jackson on John Huston's The Unforgiven with Burt Lancaster, Audie Murphy and Audrey Hepburn and he charmingly reminded me of his evil character as the power behind Leonardo DiCaprio's throne in Django Unchained. Thurman and Jackson were in Pulp Fiction together, as was Tim Roth and she remembers the meeting that eventually led to Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2. Jackson also starred in Jackie Brown and was the narrator in Inglourious Basterds.

In fact, that stands the lowest result for one of the director’s solo efforts since “Jackie Brown” kicked off to $9.3 million in 1997. It trails the debuts of “Inglourious Basterds” ($38 million), “Django Unchained” ($30.1 million), “Kill Bill: Vol.1” ($22.1 million) and “Kill Bill: Vol. 2” ($25.1 million).
Harvey Weinstein, the indie mogul who has fielded every one of Tarantino’s releases, took umbrage with an earlier version of this article, calling Variety to press his case that the piece did not fully account for the box office juggernaut that is “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” The seventh film in the science-fiction franchise has dominated ticket sales, racking up more than $740 million domestically in its first three weeks of release.
But when Variety recently asked if "Kill Bill 3" was still a possibility, Qt gave a hopeful answer:
I'm not committing to it, but I wouldn't be surprised if The Bride made one more appearance before the whole thing is said and done. I am talking to Uma about it just a little bit. Some of the stuff that I'd written that never made it into the movie that maybe I could use."
It's possible/probable that,
Director Quentin Tarantino told Variety that “Kill Bill 3” is still a possibility.
“I’m not committing to it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if The Bride made one more appearance before the whole thing is said and done,” he said during a recent interview as part of our “Contenders Conversations” series. “I am talking to Uma about it just a little bit. Some of the stuff that I’d written that never made it into the movie that maybe I could use.”
Although Tarantino is now looking forward to catching up with Sofie Fatale, Elle Driver and other characters, he wasn’t initially interested in writing or helming a third installment: “I felt I
