Storyline

The six-episode, one-hour series challenges 11 lucky participants, chosen from thousands of hopefuls from across the country, to create their very own superhero alter ego, live with each other in a secret lair and compete against each other to prove their mettle, reveal the true nature of their superhuman abilities and invoke the noble credos by which they live. There's only one person in the world who is qualified to act as both judge and jury for such a contest and that's Stan "The Man" Lee, the creator of Spider-Man, The Hulk, Fantastic Four and X-Men, to name only a few. During the six-week competition, these homegrown superheroes will live under Stan's watchful eye doing their utmost to demonstrate the true qualities of a superhero - courage, integrity, self-sacrifice, compassion and resourcefulness - while at the same time fighting tooth and nail to come out on top by the seat of their spandex pants. The winner flies away with the greatest prize in reality TV history! His or her... Written by Sci Fi Channel

Trivia

The majority of Season 2 contestants originally auditioned under code-names other than what they used on the show: the Defuser (Takedown), Hyper-Strike (Super Impact Man), Mindset (Omnicron), Mr. Mitzvah (Peaceman, Mitzvah Man), Parthenon (Paragon), and Whip-Snap (Lady Reckoning). See more »

Pure entertainment!
10 August 2006 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

The only thing that keeps me from giving this show a ten is the fact that some of the contestants on the show are already actors. I think the chosen contestants should have been pure comic book geeks who really wanted to be a superhero and featured in a comic book, not just actors looking for a gig. I do love the show though, and it's great entertainment! The challenges are appropriate to the show's format, and I think it's cute how the "contestants" rarely break character. It also gives that superhero "feel" that Stan Lee never appears in person, just on a television screen. I also like the interesting plot twists and surprises I've seen so far!
