At the Morgan house, Savide (the Realtor) mentions that the furniture is being stored in the basement. Then, Rachel goes to the basement, opens the doors, and, the entryway is covered with cobwebs. If the Realtor had moved the furniture into the basement, the cobwebs would have been swept away.
In the ambulance scene where Rachel takes a look at Jake's dead body; after unzipping the bag, we see Jake's terrified face faced right, towards Rachel but right after that where Rachel gasps his face is looking the opposite direction.
When Rachel and Aidan are on the couch she takes a bite of a sandwich. As she is taking the bite Aidan asks her a question. They cut to Rachel who answers the question but has no food in her mouth. After she answers she takes another bite and the sandwich appears to have not been bitten into yet.
In the very beginning of the movie when Jake brings Emily over to watch the tape, she doesn't turn off the lights. When Jakes comes in yelling at her to play it, the T.V. gives light to the room, and you can tell the lights are off. When the well water comes into the kitchen, he runs into the living room and lights are on again.
When Aidan picks up the camera in the bathroom to take a picture the flash is up in the reflection, but when he starts taking the pictures a second later the flash is down and pops up when he starts taking the pictures.
When Samara visits Aidan in his bedroom, Aidan is seen facing the wall and to his left is a globe, which shows the continent of South America. When the outline of the burning tree appears on the wall, and after Rachel pulls Aidan away, the globe is undisturbed, but shows the continent of Australia.
When Rachel and Aidan pull up to their house near the beginning of the film, the camera lenses and hood cover are reflected in the lower left corner of the frame off of the car door as it pulls up to the curb.
After she has taken Aidan to the hospital, Rachel shows Max the photographs that Aidan took of Samara in the public restroom. As he is looking at the camera, a crew member is visible through the window behind Max and to his left.
When Rachel examines the face of the first victim, she approaches an ambulance labeled "Clatsop County Medical Examiner." Clatsop County does not have its own medical examiner. If a suspicious death occurs, the body would be sent to the state medical examiner. Ambulances in Clatsop County are labeled "Medix."
Just before Rachel is about to burn the VHS tape in the woods, she pulls out tape from the cassette very easily several times. And we can hear the sounds of the spools in the cassette spinning as she pulls out the tape.
This should not be possible to happen. The VHS cassettes have latches locking the spools to keep them from turning. The spools can only be released by a push-in lever accessed by a hole located on the bottom of the cassette. When Rachel is holding the cassette and pulls the tape out, we can see the bottom of the cassette that she has nothing inserted into that hole in order to release the lock of the spools.
Early on, we see a shot of The Daily Astorian office where Rachel works, and the Columbia River in the background. The real Daily Astorian office is located well off the waterfront. The building used is a medical supply company.
In the first Ring movie, when Rachel watched the video, the eerie screeching begins when we see the finger going through the hammer-nail. But in the beginning of this movie, when Emily is supposedly watching the video, the screeching starts at a different time.
The Israeli cover of the DVD release contain the names of two of the movie characters - Rachel and Aidan. While Rachel is listed as 'Naomi Watts', Aidan is listed as 'Aidan Keller', instead of his real name, David Dorfman.
When Rachel makes sandwiches for herself and Samara/Aidan, the camera focuses briefly on the bottle of pills. The name on the bottle clearly reads "...entura, Tony." There is no character named "Tony" in the film; however, the crew's property master is named Tony Bonaventura.
When Dr Temple is forced to use a syringe on herself, you can clearly see that when she pulls back the plunger there's just air going inside and it's confirmed when she "injects" it into her neck and again you see there's nothing in the syringe. This is however due to the idea that she is injecting air into her blood stream which is known as an air embolism and if enough air is injected into the bloodstream it does cause death.
