Lindsay Lohan has continued with her threat to sue a Dubai party-planning company over claims she will be attending a New Year's Eve event in the city. Lindsay Lohan's estranged father has given his daughter the thumbs up for posing nude for Playboy magazine, insisting the decision to bare all was a "good move".
The Mean Girls star recently stripped off for the $1 million (£625,000) photoshoot and the January/February edition of the magazine has proved to be a big hit with fans, with many retailers having to order additional stock to meet demands.
And Michael Lohan is convinced the actress, who wears nothing but high heels for the images, is finally making the right decisions to get her career back on track.
In a taping of U.S. TV show Lifechangers, he tells celebrity counsellor Dr. Drew Pinsky, "It's a move in a direction where she's working. If she's happy with it, I'm happy with it."
But Michael admits he's yet to see just how raunchy the photos are - and he is unlikely to ever lay eyes on them.
When Dr. Drew pulls up the magazine cover photo, which features a platinum blonde Lindsay straddling a red plastic Playboy bunny-shaped chair, strategically protecting her modesty, Michael says, "I haven't seen it and I never look at it, any of it. There she is. Do I have to close my eyes?"
The episode is due to air in America on Wednesday. »
Lindsay Lohan has helped her little sister Aliana celebrate her 18th birthday in style with a swanky bash in New York. The Mean Girls actress, her mom Dina, and younger brothers Cody and Michael Jr joined the budding model for a night of drinking and fine dining at the Beaumarchais restaurant on December 21, according to Life & Style magazine. An onlooker said that the family – who ordered from a prix fixe menu that included tuna tartar and truffle gnocchi – seemed happy to be together. "It's clear Lindsay and Michael Jr. are very close. They were talking a lot and Michael had his arm around her at one point. She seemed to be confiding in him," said the eyewitness. "Lindsay ordered a bunch of glasses of champagne for the table and switched to drinking that. "The staff brought out cake and two brownie sundaes. While everyone sang, Lindsay toasted with champagne." Meanwhile »

Variety reports that James Franco is in talks to join the picture, titled "Lovelace," as none other than Hugh Hefner. Franco would only work for one day, to film a scene in which young Hefner screens "Deep Throat" at the Playboy Mansion and has a little chat with Ms. Lovelace.
The film has no shortage of huge stars. Aside from Seyfried and Franco (whose casting is not yet finalized) the cast includes Peter Sarsgaard, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth, Hank Azaria, Robert Patrick, Sharon Stone, Wes Bentley, Juno Temple. »
Well, I mean, she's right here. Gone is just the title. Summit Entertainment just sent over this new poster for the upcoming thriller featuring the Mean Girls and Red Riding Hood star. This is going to be a different kind of role for her, one that sees her taking the offense to save her sister from a serial killer. Do you know someone -- or perhaps you are someone -- who seems out of step with the current time because he or she deeply romanticizes another era in which they never lived? In Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris," Gil Pender (Owen Wilson) is that person, and the era he loves is Paris in the 1920s.
"Midnight in Paris" opens with some gorgeous shots of the City of Light where Gil is vacationing with his fiancée, Inez (Rachel McAdams), and her right-wing parents. Gil is a successful Hollywood screenwriter who dreams of finishing his first novel -- about a nostalgia-shop owner -- in Paris, where many of his literary heroes worked and played.
Inez constantly belittles Gil and babbles about wanting a house in Malibu when she's not running off with her pretentious friends. You can't imagine why the gentle-natured Gil would be engaged to this vapid (pardon our French) bitch with overbearing parents, »

The hotly anticipated Playboy issue featuring troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan is flying off the shelves according to the publication's founder Hugh Hefner. Or perhaps they're not. It all depends on who you ask.
Hefner writes on Twitter, "The Lindsay Lohan January-February Double Issue is breaking sales records."
However not everyone is convinced by Hefner's statement. Both Fox News and CNN are reporting lackluster sales based on calls to various newsstands around the country. CNN found that only one of the 12 retailers they contacted had sold out of the issue.
If the sales are as good as Hefner states, this is good news given all that went wrong with the issue. First they had to do an entire re-shoot, with rumors swirling that the reason was Lohan's bad teeth. Then the photos leaked out early, forcing Playboy to release the issue before they wanted to. And then a travel problem caused »
"The Lindsay Lohan January-February Double Issue is breaking sales records," Hef wrote on his Twitter page on Sunday, though what this means in terms of numbers or in sales exactly is unclear. In a bout of fact-checking, CNN reports that it made calls to twelve newsstands in cities from Los Angeles to New York, and found "just one that is sold out of the issue."
Lohan was allegedly paid $1 million for the Marilyn Monroe-inspired Playboy spread, which cast the troubled actress against a red velvet background clad in heels and stark red lipstick. The images of Lohan's Playboy pictorial first leaked online on December 9th, spurring Hefner to bump up the issue's release date several days early. The double-issue contains more than 200 pages and marks the first nude pictorial of the "Mean Girls" actress, who »

Lindsay Lohan's edition of Playboy has achieved an unprecedented level of sales, according to Hugh Hefner. The Mean Girls actress took part in a naked photo shoot for the January/February 2012 edition of the magazine, which was released early after the cover and full pictorial was leaked. Hefner has now disproved speculation that the leak could hurt sales, revealing on Twitter that Lohan's issue is "breaking sales records". The magazine is out of stock at many news stands and customers have been purchasing multiple copies, Gossip Cop reports. (more) »

Hugh Hefner is taking credit for the Lindsay Lohan nude pictorial, the Playboy boss says he is the one that talked Lindsay in to taking off her clothes for Playboy magazine. "The pictorial and the concept for the pictorial came from me," Hefner boasted. "She had done semi-nudes before. I wanted to do something that would be memorable." Hugh also said he was the one that ordered the re-shoot saying he was unhappy with the original pictures. The 25-year-old posed for the nude photos in October, just before she was sentenced to 30 days in prison. The Mean Girls actress was not taken into custody immediately and it was reported that the delay was down to a re-shoot for Playboy. Hugh, 85, has now confirmed this, telling E! News: "The pictorial and the concept for the pictorial came from me. She had done semi-nudes before. I wanted to do something that would be memorable. »
The Mean Girls star posed for the nude photos in October, just before she was sentenced to 30 days behind bars. The actress was not taken into custody straight away and reports emerged suggesting the delay was down to a re-shoot commitment for Playboy.
Hefner has now confirmed the gossip was true, admitting the original snaps were not as impressive as he had hoped - and he suggested the now infamous Marilyn Monroe theme.
He tells E! News, "The pictorial and the concept for the pictorial came from me. She had done semi-nudes before. I wanted to do something that would be memorable.
"So what is more natural, since she is a huge fan of Marilyn Monroe, than (to) do something that is a tribute to the red-velvet, Tom Kelley photo shot of Marilyn Monroe that was our very first Playmate?"
Hefner also admits Lohan's team was wary of the star posing for the nude snaps, adding, "I think it was essentially mama and the folks around her that kept pushing for less nudity. And I said, 'We're doing a nude pictorial here. We're going to do it in a very classy way and we're going to do it in a way in which it will not be forgotten.'"
Lohan ended up serving less than five hours of her 30-day sentence behind bars due to prison overcrowding. »
What a difference a year makes!
Back in January, Paige Harbison's debut novel, "Here Lies Bridget," hit bookshelves. (She was only 20-years-old at the time.) In October, it was acquired for the big screen. And now, NextMovie has learned that it has landed a director.
Hey, Hollywood knows a good thing when it sees it.
Kat Coiro, who helmed the Kate Bosworth starrers "L!fe Happens" and "While We Were Here" (out in 2012), has signed on to direct the film adaptation of "Here Lies Bridget." (Unfortunately, Bosworth might be a little too old to play the titular role in this one.)
The young adult tale tells the story of Bridget Duke, who is the most popular — and meanest — girl in high school… until she crashes her car and ends up in spiritual limbo. Talk about a bad day. She must then confront the people she has wronged, all of »

Rachel McAdams is ready to make it a little hot in here.
"Passion" is a loose remake of the French thriller, "Love Crime," which features an older woman seeking revenge against her protege. "Passion" turns the premise around a bit and instead focuses on a woman who turns murderess after her boss steals her idea.
Rachel McAdams will be joining her "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" co-star, Noomi Rapace, for the suspense thriller that will be both written and directed by De Palma. The "Femme Fatale" director is himself quite excited for what sounds like a return to form for him: "Not since 'Dressed to Kill' have I been able to combine eroticism, suspense, mystery »

Director Kat Coiro (Life Happens) has been set to helm an adaptation of Paige Harbison’s novel Here Lies Bridget. Deadline reports that Coiro will direct the pic for Galgos Entertainment. The story centers on a narcissistic mean girl who dies and ends up in limbo. While there, she must confront the people she’s bullied over the years, all of whom decide whether she goes to heaven or hell. It’s an interesting premise that’s a bit reminiscent of The Lovely Bones, but it seems to have a positive message for teens. The tone is described as an edgy It’s a Wonderful Life (really?) meets Mean Girls. The script was written by Leah Rachel, who recently sold a pilot to HBO called Starf*Ckers.
