Trivia

In every episode (except the Pilot), Joey's Magna Doodle has something different drawn on it:
  • Episode One: A bird; looks like a phoenix rising from the fire/ashes.
  • Joey and the Party: A goat eating out of a garbage can, in front of the Hollywood sign.
  • Joey and the Book Club: A hula dancer.
  • Joey and the Perfect Storm: A snail saying, "Weee" as it rides on a turtle's back.
  • Joey and the Nemesis: A scene from Aesop's Fable, "The Fox and the Grapes." (The fox, snapping at the grapes, just out of reach.)
  • Joey and the Husband: A Dragon
  • Joey and the Dream Girl, Part 1: A cowboy riding a bomb through the air (scene from Dr. Strangelove)
  • Joey and the Dream Girl, Part 2: In the first scene is was the same cowboy riding a bomb that was used in the previous episode. After that, it was a killer whale jumping over someone in the water... who looked a lot like Gumby
  • Joey and the Big Audition: A stunt rider on a motorcycle
  • Joey and the Road Trip: Lilies and a hummingbird
  • Joey and the Plot Twist: A dog peeing on a frightened snowman, instead of on the nearby fire-hydrant
  • Joey and the Taste Test: Logo for Fox Motocross Gear
  • Joey and the Premier: A family walking beneath the night sky
  • Joey and the Assistant: BMX biker on a half pipe
  • Joey and the Tonight Show: A guy in a hospital bed; a dog sitting nearby; the number 428
  • Joey and the Valentine's Date: A Bulldog sitting on a chair

Stop Comparing Joey to Friends
14 February 2005 | by (Durley, England) – See all my reviews

Did people keep comparing Frasier to Cheers? Of course not. It was a completely different show. I saw the first two episodes last night and was impressed. I like Gina and Michael and I especially like his agent, Bobbie, played with gusto but the ever talented Jennifer Coolidge.

Out of all the characters, Joey stands the best chance of making it alone and I really think people need to let the show move through the natural teething problems that it will have. It's NOT Friends, just the same as Mork and Mindy was NOT Happy Days. To compare the two is asinine. Will it be better than Friends, who knows. Remember that Friends had it's own teething problems in the early days and was not necessarily the greatest show on the planet. Star Trek: The Next Generation was absolutely lousy in the first season. That moved on to spawn one of TV's greatest shows. Hell, The Simpsons was not great in it's first season. However, a show will never work if all people can say is "This is not Friends"!!! Give it a chance. It's worked for Angel from "Buffy"!
