7 April 2015 9:30 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

We’ve been delighted in the last few years to see veteran character actor James Badge Dale break out to bigger and better things. Felicity Jones joins 'Star Wars: Rogue One' and 'Episode VIII' sets 2017 release

12 March 2015 11:00 AM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

One of the reasons fan speculation makes my job difficult is because many people do not understand the difference between fan speculation and news, and in a world where bloggers blur that line all the time, things spread and become fact, whether they are or not. For the last year or so, it has been "common knowledge" that the first stand-alone "Star Wars" film was going to be about Boba Fett. I've seen that printed hundreds of times now. I've seen people discussing it as if Disney had announced it. And I'm sure for many people, they absolutely believed it as fact. Truth is, it was only ever a rumor, and for the last year, I've taken a fair amount of heat for saying that I was fairly sure Gareth Edwards was not, in fact, directing a Boba Fett movie. The other rumor that was very popular was that they »

Review: 'Justified' - 'Alive Day': Train in vain

24 February 2015 8:03 PM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

A review of tonight's "Justified" coming up just as soon as I come across a chupacabra... "Maybe this time, things end different." -Boyd Last week, I wrote that I looked forward to "seeing the very stupid way" in which Choo-Choo would died, thinking about the accidental demises of White Boy Bob in "Out of Sight," or Danny Crowe when he tried to test his 21-foot rule theory on Raylan last season. "Alive Day" appears to kill off our latest impulsive man of violence, who fails to get crushed by his namesake, but instead expires from wounds acquired in a shootout with Raylan, Tim, Ty Walker and some of Avery Markham's other mercs. And it's not just the method of Choo-Choo's death that's a surprise, but the tone of it. Introduced as perhaps the dumbest and strongest of the series' many dumb strong guys, he instead turns out to be someone »

TNT Gives The Librarians Another Season

14 February 2015 7:48 AM, PST | AreYouScreening.com | See recent AreYouScreening news »

TNT’s The Librarians shot out of the gates, and how could it not, and the network has finally announced a renewal.

Considering the numbers, this isn’t exactly a surprise. According to their own statement, it was the #2 basic cable show of the year, so bringing it back probably isn’t anything that fans were worried about… except that it kept not happening.

It isn’t actually a long time since the first season ended, but by today’s standards, it has been a bit of an odd wait. The delay is perhaps a hint at some behind-the-scenes uncertainty over contracts and schedules, especially in the case of Noah Wyle, who both is and isn’t a regular feature of the show, and who has other shows to do.

At any rate, you can rest easy. And, look for your chance to catch the show, if you haven’t already, »
