What did you think of Malcolm Merlyn being part of it all?

Jim: It's always great to see Merlyn in his element. I'm glad they didn't overuse him in this case. Was just enough to remind us what he was doing at this point in the story.

Steve: I've had a rejuvenated interest in Merlyn ever since he did his Broadway thing on the Flash recently. It was good to see him back and tie into the Bratva storyline.

First Trailer For Netflix’s Sci-Fi Series Travelers Introduces A Bleak, Hopeless Future

2016 is fast drawing to a close, but there’s still enough time for an original Netflix series to make its premiere. And so, following the recent stealth release of Zal Batmanglij’s sci-fi mystery The Oa, the online streamer is on the verge of debuting Travelers.

Set in the distant future, the elevator pitch involves a crack team of Travelers who possess the ability to send someone’s consciousness back in time to inhabit a body in the 21st century – think of Wolverine’s jaunt back in time from Days of Future Past.

Featuring a cast led by Eric McCormack (Will & Grace), Brad Wright’s imminent series finds humanity on its last legs, and ahead of tomorrow’s premiere, the

Jason Momoa Heads Up Sugar Mountain

Jason Momoa has been a busy guy of late. Since moving from small cable TV (Stargate: Atlantis) to Big cale TV (Game Of Thrones) it seems that both the industry at large and Momoa himself have been scrambling to figure out what, exactly, to do with the talented brute. His mass appeal is obvious and being carried out with blockbuster roles such as the upcoming Aquaman but Momoa clearly has the urge to prove himself in smaller indie far as well whether in recent writer-director effort Road To Paloma, Ana Lily Amirpour's The Bad Batch or upcoming effort Sugar Mountain. Momoa plays the heavy here as a violent man owed ten thousand dollars by a local youth. The youth - having no way of coming...

Stargate Sg-1: was longevity its curse?

facebook

twitter

google+

After a strong start, 10 seasons and multiple spin-offs took Stargate Sg-1 further and further away from its original premise...

I’ve recently had time to catch-up on the staple of afternoon television when I was a lad, Stargate Sg-1. First launched in 1997, it ran for ten seasons and it’s aged surprisingly well, in no small part due to it being heavily character-driven and fairly horror-focussed for its first two runs. This is most likely thanks to its first five seasons airing on sex-and-guts cable channel Showtime, while its later seasons aired the more clean-cut Syfy channel in the Us. All in all, it’s rip-roaring sci-fi; the kind of ‘explore and fight with interesting plots and great character arcs’ storytelling that filled the void left by successive Star Trek series which never quite captured the wonder of the unknown in the way that the Original Series or The Next Generation did.
