Trivia

In the Christmas special, "Ho Ho Ho Selecta", when the Lorraine Kelly set came out of storage, the pillow which she sits on disappeared, and the production team had to cut up a pillow from a different sofa and stick Leigh in it, literally the moment Brian Dowling was coming to the set. See more »

Jumped the shark
26 June 2004 | by (England) – See all my reviews

The first series of Bo'Selecta was good fun, the second one was mostly fine right up until the last episode when the 'real' Craig David turned up and spoiled the fun. Then Channel Four gave us a Christmas special that was anything but special, together with a truly dismal novelty single. Not surprisingly, the third series (at the time of this writing) is turning out to be a huge disappointment, with even the most devoted of fans deserting the good ship Merrion in droves. It would appear that this formerly engaging lunatic has believed his own hype. Bo'Selecta has, to borrow the terminology of another website, jumped the shark, and I don't think too many people will be sorry if this third time around turns out to be the last.
