  • Continuity: At the end, when Silvia is saying goodbye to Tobin, her hair alternates between being blown back and hanging down between shots.

  • Crew or equipment visible: When Tobin is telling Sylvia that his wife died two weeks ago, you can see a light from a camera reflecting off the picture next to him.

  • Continuity: We see Tobin and Dot use a "pass card" to enter the halls though double glass doors in the F.B.I. building. However, those entering and leaving after the doors have closed, easily open them without using a card.

  • Continuity: Action takes place during the UN General Assembly meeting. This meeting is always in September, but film shows cherry blossom trees in full bloom which occurs only in the spring.

  • Continuity: At the end of the movie when Sylvia is saying goodbye to Tobin by the water, his feet change places on the rail he is sitting on.

  • Revealing mistakes: About 15 minutes into the movie, as the helicopter is taking off, Woods gets a call that, she claims, informs her that Ziwani's head of security has arrived. In fact, what she hears on the line is the Israeli national telephone company's recording: "Hamispar sh'higata, lo poel tmani." In English: "The number you have dialed is temporarily unavailable."

  • Continuity: After the bus explosion, Silvia has two cuts on her left cheek. After the blood is cleaned off, she has three cuts on her left cheek. Then in the next scene, the extra cut is much smaller, even though not very much time has elapsed.

  • Continuity: When Tobin walks into his apartment and it's dark the light switch is on the up position. After the camera pans through his apartment you can see the light switch is now in the correct position for the lights to be off when it focuses on him once again.

  • Continuity: During the first meeting between Tobin and Sylvia at the U.N. when he says he's not there to protect her, her hair keeps changing. In some shots, it's over her eye, and in some shots it frames her face. She is never seen moving it with her hand.

  • Continuity: When Silvia and Philippe meet at the park bench for the first time, a strand of hair across the middle of Philippe's forehead appears and reappears between shots as they talk.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Tobin was revealing to Silvia that he knew about the e-mail she sent to Philippe, Tobin said "write me", but the e-mail really said "call me".

  • Factual errors: The rhythm of the interpreters' speech makes it clear that they're just reading English slowly, rather than making the natural pauses in order to account for the syntax of other languages.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): The building where Simon Broome is shot, the Monumental, is a bullfighting ring, a remnant of Mozambique's Portuguese era. At the end of the film, as Silvia reads from her brother's list, she calls it a soccer stadium.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): The newspaper article spells the name Kuman Kuman in two words. The correct spelling is Kuman-Kuman, as one of the Secret Service agents points out.

  • Errors in geography: During the scene when Silvia is trying to escape from Jean Gamba (when he's threatening to run her over on her Vespa), she is seen initially going up 4th Avenue, but then it switches to her going up Lafayette Street, which is lower than 4th Avenue. Then she is finally seen heading towards Chinatown via Lafayette; this is the opposite direction of where she had been heading towards the entire time.

  • Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): (At 1:38:00) Tobin tell someone to check JFK, Newark and LaGuardia airports for Sylvia because she went back to Africa. LaGuardia airport is not an international airport: it handles strictly domestic flights.

  • Factual errors: When Tobin tries to find what light Silvia to taking to get back to Africa, he finds out that she is using British Airways to fly from New York to Johannesburg, however, British Airways does not fly that route.

  • Continuity: In an early scene agent Keller (Sean Penn) is shown with a glass on a bar. The glass has about an inch of booze in it. Scene cuts to him removing his wedding ring and putting it in the glass... which is now empty.
