After the super success of Pyar Jhucta Naheen in the year 1985, Deven Verma signed the hit pair and started Dana Paani which was then delayed and took about four years to get release and the upcoming music composer Anu Malik was signed for this film which was the last film Devan Verma made.
Both films Devan Verma's Daana Paani and Sultan Ahmed Daata were started in 1985 with the same cast and both films were released after four years in 1989.
The trumpet tune used at 1:00 of "Pagh Ghungroo Bandh" from Namak Halaal was later the source of inspiration from the tune of the song "Mera Dil Kho Gaya" from Aazmayish. What is confusing is that a similar tune was used by Michael Jackson for his song "Bad", 5 years after Namak Halaal. The song "Boogie Boogie" from Kismetwala also had the same tune which sounded like "Bad". Himesh Reshamiya also used this same tune at 0:27 for the song "Ice Cream" from the film The Xpose. Another version was in the song "Dokha Dokha" from the movie Dana Pani. The song "Dokha Dokha" was partly sampled from Michael Jackson song "Bad". "Tere Baap Ko" from Do Aankhen Barah Haath, also was inspired by Bad. The song ,"Dokha" would later have a international remix instrumental titled "Dhokha" (Aaron Maple Mix).
