The Ten Commandments Number 4: Honour Thy Father and Thy Mother (1995)

** (out of 4)

The fourth film in Phil Mulloy's series on The Ten Commandments features a young boy who is given everything by his rich parents but this also includes a few kicks in the butt. One day the parents force him to join a local race and when he doesn't win it leads to another kick but this time the boy plans to honor them in another way. As I go through this series I keep saying the same thing over and over again but I'm just not getting the humor or the message. For the most part this is a good looking animated short as it contains that certain crudeness that you find in Mulloy's films. I find that the animation perfectly matches the subject matters of his films so I don't mind how it actually looks. With that said, the entire series it seems is being built around the punchline of the final sequence. That final sequence actually works here and it did make me laugh but the only problem are the six minutes leading up to it and they don't work.
