Is it too early to call this the wedding of the year? Yes, the cat has long ago been let out of the bag. Leonard and Penny are finally tying the knot in the The Big Bang Theory Season 9 premiere episode The Matrimony Momentum. And lt looks like Leonard's having a bit of a problem carrying Penny across the threshold. CBS has released the first trailer, and it looks like the couple's nuptials are very barebones, understated and definitely no frills as they enjoy their short honeymoon in Las Vegas.
This latest sneak peek debuted last night during the premiere episode of Late Show with Stephen Colbert. We get only a fleeting glimpse of Penny (Kaley Cuoco) in her wedding attire as she prepares for her very short walk down the isle with Leonard (Johnny Galecki). Home Fires topped the ratings on Sunday (June 7), according to overnight figures.
ITV's World War II-era drama returned after a two-week break with 4.74m (22.2%) at 9pm, with a further 255,000 (1.7%) tuning in on +1.
Earlier in the evening, Catchphrase entertained 1.72m (10.7%) at 6.30pm (182k/1.0% on +1), before Celebrity Squares continued with 1.86m (10.3%) at 7.15pm (80k/0.4%).
Sunday Night at the Palladium appealed to 3.05m (14.8%) at 8pm (221k/1.0%).
Over on ITV2, Love Island opened to 434k (2.2%) at 9pm, as the revived reality show hosted by Caroline Flack got started in Mallorca.
BBC One's Formula One coverage was the second most-watched programme of the evening with 4.62m (25.0%) tuning in for the Canadian Grand Prix at 6.30pm. The latest episode of Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell brought in 1.78m (8.3%) at 9pm.
Doug Harris (Josh Gad) is a likable shlub with a fat bank account, a beautiful fiance (Kaley Cuoco) and one small problem. He has no guy friends to be his best man and groomsmen at his upcoming wedding. That all changes though when he discovers Best Man, Inc. and its CEO, Jimmy Callahan (Kevin Hart). He won’t be your friend after the wedding, but for a small fee Jimmy will be the best best man you could have hoped for, for a slightly bigger fee he’ll also include one or two groomsmen for your special day and for $50k? For $50k he’ll roll out the Golden Tux package. The illusion works flawlessly for the first few minutes, but it’s all downhill once grandma (Cloris Leachman) catches on fire.
