Materialism And Ballroom Dancing
26 March 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

"Bayarang Puso" is a movie about decadence and materialism set against a backdrop of the most recent leisure class craze in ballroom dancing. This was made during the 90's.It stars Aga Muhlach, Lorna Tolentino and Carmina Villaroel. It was directed by Jose Javier Reyes.

The movie has interesting themes about love, avarice and betrayal. What makes it horrible is the obviously wild pirouettes around the story especially in terms of the relationship between Juliet and Martin particularly at the conclusion of the story. One might even feel that he got manipulated into watching a movie that would overtly insult one's intelligence as the characters in the film act out of character at the end.Too bad that it could have been a good movie considering the cast involved and the director at helm.Unfortunately, the screenplay was obviously poorly written and not well-thought.
