Civil War Black Panther Clip, IMAX Preview and New Viral Video

1 hour ago | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

With exactly one week left until Marvel's Captain America: Civil War hits theaters, anticipation is higher than ever for this superhero adventure, which kicks off the studio's Phase 3 slate. Over the past few days, the studio has brought back Leslie Bibb as journalist Christine Everhart for a series of viral videos, that have examined the cost of The Avengers' heroic deeds, and who should pay for all of the damage they cause. Today we have yet another viral video, which teases that the Commander-in-Chief himself, in the McU, gave these heroes a shout-out.

In 2013's Iron Man 3, President Ellis (William Sadler) was saved by both Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and War Machine (Don Cheadle), so it should be no surprise that he is pro-Avengers. This Civil War viral video from Whih World News reveals that the President recently commended the efforts of these heroes, while the damages »

‘Captain America: Civil War’ Climbs to $38.7 Million in First 2 Days at Foreign Box Office

1 hour ago | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Disney-Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” has grossed a dominant $38.7 million in its first two days in 30 international markets, finishing first in all territories.

Disney noted that the superhero tentpole is pacing on par with last year’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” in the same  markets. “Ulton” grossed $946 million internationally, which is equivalent to $893 million at current rates.

South Korea leads the pack with $7.7 million after two days, followed by France with $3.7 million in two days and Brazil, which took in $2.7 million on its opening day on Thursday.

The Brazilian haul was the second-highest opening day ever in that market, behind only “Stars Wars: The Force Awakens” and 31% ahead of “Ultron.” Its market share hit 90%.

The Philippines has generated $2.4 million in two days, followed by Taiwan with $2.4 million in the same amount of time.

Australia grossed $2.4 million on its opening day on Thursday — 3% ahead of “Ultron” — with a 76% market share. »

Wolverine in the McU, what to expect from Avengers: Infinity War, and how does Robert Downey Jr. improvise? – the Anthony and Joe Russo interview, directors of Captain America: Civil War

3 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Flickering Myth’s Oli Davis sits down with directors Anthony and Joe Russo to talk about their movie Captain America: Civil War

In one respect, Captain America: Civil War marks the passing of the Marvel Cinematic Universe torch. Or should that be hammer? Or shield? Of Infinity Stone?

Whatever metaphor for responsibility it is, director brothers Anthony and Joe Russo are at the forefront of Marvel’s Phase III. With Joss Whedon leaving the Universe after the culmination of Phase II in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Civil War marks the beginning of the ‘Russo Era’. They will soon be starting production on the studio’s most ambitious project: the two part Avengers movie Infinity War.

But how will their Phase III differ from Whedon’s work? With political subtexts running through both their Captain America movies – The Winter Soldier and Civil War – is this indicative of the Universe’s tone moving forwards? »

Movie Review – Captain America: Civil War (2016)

4 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Captain America: Civil War, 2016.

Directed by Joe Russo & Anthony Russo.

Starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, William Hurt, Emily VanCamp, Tom Holland, Martin Freeman, Chadwick Boseman, Daniel BrühlPaul Bettany and Frank Grillo.

Synopsis:

The Avengers become divided over the issue of whether there should be a set of rules allowing the governments of the world to police them.

(Major Spoilers!)

So, is Civil War really Marvel’s best film to date, as some publications (including Empire magazine) have claimed? Well, in my opinion Avengers Assemble still holds that crown, but Civil War is definitely amongst their top five. It’s loosely based on the Mark Millar comic of the same name, but only shares basic elements of the plot; the Avengers (apart from Hulk and Thor; both Awol) are told that due to the enormous »

20 hours ago | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Warner Bros. has found its new Lara Croft! Last month, Star Wars: The Force Awakens breakout star Daisy Ridley confirmed that she had engaged in discussions with Warner Bros., MGM and Gk Films to star as Lara Croft in their highly-anticipated Tomb Raider reboot. We never heard anything official about the actress' casting, but, at the time, we also hadn't heard about any other actresses who were in the running for the coveted role. Today, it was announced that it's not Daisy Ridley who landed the role, but Ex Machina and The Danish Girl star Alicia Vikander who will play the iconic video game adventurer.

The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the actress has signed on to this reboot, which will focus on a much younger Lara Croft. We reported last month that this reboot will serve as an origin story for Lara, with the screenplay being adapted from the »

Welcoming directors Joe and Anthony Russo into the limelight, the clip documents that chase sequence that involves Black Panther, Sebastian Stan’s The Winter Soldier and Chris Evans’ star-spangled hero himself. What exactly Bucky Barnes is in possession remains a mystery for now, but it’s clear either he or the item in question is of the utmost importance for Boseman’s T’Challa and, by effect, Team Iron Man.

Robert Downey Jr. “could do one more” Iron Man movie

28 April 2016 2:05 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Last week it was announced that Robert Downey Jr. is set to reprise the role of Tony Stark for Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, which – along with Captain America: Civil War and the two-part Avengers: Infinity War – will take his McU appearances up to ten.

Downey hasn’t headlined his own solo movie since 2013’s Iron Man 3, and while Marvel has resisted the temptation to add Iron Man 4 to its slate through Phase Three, the actor has revealed to ABC News that: “I feel like I could do one more.”

Assuming Marvel doesn’t add another film to Phase Three, which is highly unlikely given how packed it is already, then the earliest we could expect to see Iron Man 4 would be late 2019, when Phase Four is expected to get underway.
