The RCAF Takes To The Air
boblipton25 August 2020
Let's start off by stating that the 'unconfirmed' can be taken off the presence of Air Marshall Bishop in this short. That's him pinning the wings onto the graduating airmen about a minute before the end of this short, and he's identified.... you're not going to argue with Lorne Greene, are you?

In the US, they had movie stars recruiting for the Army Air corps; Jimmy Stewart told the recruits about the pay and how the girls are crazy for flyers; Clark Gable talked for an hour about the training and run-up to a bombing mission. Here it's Lorne Greene in one of the dozen and a half CANADA CARRIES ON shorts he narrated. As always, he sounds very worried, and slightly upset, but ultimately competent that the Canadians will provide air men, just as they had in the last war.
