Over the past 20 years Ewan McGregor has transformed from young rebel hero to suave leading man. Now he is starring in Juan Antonio Bayona's new film as the father of a family caught in the 2004 Thai tsunami
Six months ago, Ewan McGregor strolled incognito down the Croisette at the tail end of the Cannes film festival. He was dressed in bright white, with a beard, shades and a wide-brimmed hat pulled down to the eyebrows. In the hubbub of the Cote D'Azur's garishly dressed, he somehow melted into the crowd. Intent, or accident? "I wasn't in disguise," he says, taking slight umbrage at the suggestion. "I'd just been given a really nice hat. So I thought I'd wear it. I think if you put a cap and a pair of shades on in an airport, of course everyone's gonna look at you. But I'm not worried about it. I »

Naomi Watts hit the red carpet alongside Ewan McGregor at the BFI IMAX theater in London last night to debut their movie The Impossible. She showed some skin in a Tom Ford black dress, and Ewan was his typical fashion-forward self in a dark gray checkered suit. She and Ewan's movie is based on the true story of a family of five vacationing in Thailand during the 2004 Asian tsunami, and it arrives in select Us theaters Dec. 21. It's actually the second time Naomi and Ewan have worked together; they also costarred in 2005's Stay. Naomi's partner, Liev Schreiber, wasn't able to attend, since he's back in NYC shooting his own movie. Liev's been logging long hours on the Brooklyn set of Fading Gigolo with Vanessa Paradis. He was, though, able to take a break over the weekend to bring their oldest son, Sasha, to see the Knicks play the Indiana Pacers. »

This may be the clip that ruins "The Notebook" for you forever. On last night's episode of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," Scott Disick tried to re-ignite the spark between him and baby mama Kourtney Kardashian ... by reenacting a scene from "The Notebook."Wearing no shirt and sporting spray-painted abs, Disick pretended to do handiwork around the home a la Ryan Gosling in the Nicolas Sparks flick."I realize that the main character in 'The Notebook' is not only good looking and in good shape, he also is a professional handyman," said Scott. "So if by fixing shutters and blinds around the house is gonna get her panties w**, so be it, I'll try it." Stay classy, Scott. Not surprisingly, Kourtney wasn't impressed with the scene -- though Scott made up for it with a romantic dinner for two later. How do you think he did? Anyone else cringe? »

Music can make an average ad great. So why, Robin Hicks asks, is music the last thing a creative thinks about when writing an ad?
My favourite TV ad of the year so far is the Let Yourself Go spot for Kangaroo Island.
When it didn’t win Mumbrella’s Ad of the Month for March (it came third) I felt aggrieved for the agency that made it. But less so a week later when it emerged that the agency had paid celebrities to tweet nice things about its work.
Let Yourself Go is a stunning spot with lots of pretty images. But it would probably have had a similar effect on me if I’d watched a blank screen for 60 seconds.
John Baker of Adelaide ad agency Kwp!, which made the ad, told me that the music (Rise by Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder) “is 50% of the communication”. For me, »

If you’ve been keeping up to date with our Game of Thrones interviews so far, you’ll know that I attended a round-table interview with some of the cast and producers of the show. They were in town for the press launch of the Season 1 DVD/Blu-ray, which is available now. We reviewed it Here.
Ahead of tomorrow’s (Us) highly anticipated Season 2 Premier, here is the final interview with Writers and Executive Producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss.
Benioff is the author of The 25th Hour, his debut novel that he also adapted into a screenplay. The film starred Edward Norton and was directed by Spike Lee. He has also written scripts for Troy (2004), Stay (2005), The Kite Runner (2007), and X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009).

Channing Tatum (in a window pane navy suit) and his wife Jenna Dewan (wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, Neil Lane jewels, and Judith Leiber bag) walked the red carpet and attended the after party at Relativity Media’s Playboy-sponsored première of ‘Haywire‘ at The DGA Theatre on January 5th in Los Angeles. Here’s a cute pic of the couple pre-red carpet…
At the after party guests (which included Gina Carano, Ewan McGregor, and Chan’s ‘Magic Mike‘ co-stars Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello) were served an exclusive drink they called “The Haywire”. Crafted especially for the party, the cocktail was an interesting mix of gin, grapefruit juice, and a basal leaf! Before leaving the event, Chan even took the time to pick up one of the exclusive ‘Haywire‘ pillows for a lucky fan on CTU.
In the video below, Chan and Jenna headed out the »

I’m going to try to be an adult as I write this review, but Oh, My God, You Guys, Haywire Is So Much Butt-kicking Fun.
It stars real-life mixed martial arts fighter Gina Carano and, holy elbow strikes, is she awesome. You will learn the sound an audience collectively makes for “good lord, that woman can kick hard!”
Carano plays Mallory Kane, a sort of privately contracted secret agent. She’s the best at what she does, which you will believe immediately, and she’s been betrayed and has to think and fight her way out, which is all you need to know about the plot. It gets explained along the way through a highly enjoyable framing device, and it’s really more fun if you just let yourself get sucked in and figure things out while Mallory does.
