I wouldn't exactly call "The Cider House Rules" an "American Classic", so I'm not sure what's up with the title of this, but I have to say I am fond of both the book and the film. I watched this on the DVD of the film "The Cider House Rules" and found some really interesting material was presented, particularly about the changes made from book to film and why such changes were necessary. That information wouldn't mean much to somebody who had only seen the film without having read the book, though. I also liked seeing the cast interviewed - although they didn't talk to any of the children, which was a shame - and the brief clips of behind-the-scenes that they showed. It was funny to see Charlize Theron and Tobey Maguire fight with fake lobsters!
