The X-Files: 15 Creepiest Creatures

21 August 2014 8:29 AM, PDT | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Fox

The X-Files spent the better part of a decade scaring the socks off of television viewers by presenting a twisted menagerie of creeps and ghouls unlike any other show on television. Sure, Star Trek had the coolest alien races, and Buffy had some pretty awesome monsters, but most of them were pretty obviously just guys in rubber suits or with prosthetics glued to their faces growling a whole lot, and a lot of times they came off more campy than scary.

The actor is to head up a remake of Kathryn Bigelow's action-packed tale of sun, surf, spirituality and terrorism

Gerard Butler on Olympus Has Fallen – video

Scottish actor Gerard Butler is reportedly in talks to take the lead villain role in a remake of Point Break, the 1991 action hit starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze and directed by Kathryn Bigelow.

The film sees Johnny Utah, played by Reeves, infiltrate a gang of bank robbers know as the Dead Presidents on account of the rubber masks they wear during hold-ups – and who also happen to be extreme sports nuts. They're led by Swayze's Bodhi, the role Butler is in talks to play. The original endures as an action classic, for its bold surf and skydive sequences, as well as the bromantic frisson between the leads. No casting details for the Utah role have been revealed.

The remake will be written by Kurt Wimmer, »
