An awful movie with an awesome ending
quiltedporcupine26 July 2005
Last year I was at a video store with a few friends when we saw the case for Scream Bloody Murder. It was obvious right away that this would be a rather cheesy and/or bad movie. And seeing as those types of movies always make for entertaining group viewing, we rented it.

We were somewhat disappointed when we got to the actual viewing part as the movie was plain bad. Not really even in the entertaining way as it was obvious that they were trying to make a campy movie (and just weren't doing a very good job of it).

As the movie reaches the climatic final showdown it suddenly takes a turn for the hilarious. I don't want to spoil anything but you'll know when it happens. The humor up till then has been hit and miss at best but the last 15 minutes or so are pure gold.

If you enjoy cheesy movies, and are willing to sit through the first hour or so of not so good viewing, then check it out. Otherwise, pass.

not so bad that it is funny, just bad
kingmonkey13 December 2006
well, i was tempted by this film as the cover promoted, in equal measures, chainsaws and schoolgirls. what a major disappointment followed such promise.

this is either some sort of student film or one big "in-joke" that only a select few are in on, one of which i am not. the dreary plot, that of a bus breaking down in the middle of nowhere and the passengers being killed one by one, is as long in the tooth as the majority of the schoolgirls here.

it gets a three as there are two rather witty deaths, ones that i have not seen in any other film franchise, but even then they are not as spectacular as they could have been.

and the chainsaw on the cover that tempted me? it has a blade as long as a conventional pencil, and does not get used on anything or, more to the point for the intended market, anyone.

people who harbour a desire to make films one day should watch this just to see how not to do it. everyone else should give it a miss.

Cheaply made film with decent looking babes
theoneforfun200523 April 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Pretty bad film is all I can say. Why did I rent a movie made on cheap home video cameras? Subsequently, I am sure they are making money with these cheap movies or why make them? Bunch of school girls get lost and trapped to be killed off on by one by the school principal wearing a womans body and face mask! What the heck is that about? Oh well... no real nudity either so that killed it even more! Don't waste your time or dollars to see it. Go and see DREAMBOAT with a bunch of hot babes in a few scenes if that's what you want! Otherwise AVOID this one at all cost and get a porno. There are some pretty good horror films out there as well. Don't be fooled by the box covers on these cheapies

Scream BLOODY PHENOMENAL!!!!
KATEisGREAT17 June 2003
Okay... maybe phenomenal isn't the word, but it's the first word that comes to mind.

Scream Bloody Murder is about a bunch of school girls, complete in school girl uniform, who, along with their female teacher and some guy with a broken leg who's driving them, are on their way to a dance at an all boys school. Each of the girls fills a stereotype- The goth, the *ahem* promiscuous one, the lesbian, the virgin, the smart one, and the mysterious new girl who joins their motley crue of cliches at the last minute. Their van breaks down, and a tow truck driver takes them to his shop, where the girls, when not making out with each other, start dying gruesome deaths.

Now, you're probably thinking, "Hey, this movie sounds terrible," and in a sense, you are correct. The film is anything but scary, but it wasn't made to frighten. Simply to entertain. If you're looking for a coherent plot, then stay away. If you're looking for cheesy effects and brilliant one liners, then definitely check this one out.

Scream Bloody Crap!
pusman8327 August 2003
Terrible, terrible, terrible.

I can appreciate a good spoof, but this movie had me wincing all the way through. I'm 20 years old and I've done more professional stuff than this. Out-of-focus shots, too dark at times, terrible sound in some scenes and a REALLY annoying shifting white-balance (which means the image will change tones from one shot angle to another).

The whole thing was filmed by handycam and looked like a porno, from the costumes, to the actresses, to the plot. Scream Bloody Murder is a porn movie minus the actual porn!

The story was ridiculous and the ending downright stupid and nonsensical. I usually can appreciate a stupid-fun movie, but this is just way too horrible. Thank God I got to rent this for free.

2 out of 10! And that's on the strength of the uniforms alone ;).

So terrible, it's good.
cowinlights24 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
When I began watching this movie I believed that it was supposed to be a parody movie, such as Scary Movie. But after a few moments I came to the realization it wasn't. The acting is terrible, the script is worse than the acting, and the plot was worse than the script.

What really got me was the back cover description, which had in one part:

Who is the killer? Is he cute? Will they ever make it to the dance on time?

That was the worst.

...Wait, no. The worst was their reaction to the killings of their best friends. They give out a really fake, bad scream with little facial expression, then make some witty remark. Like when The cute virgin is pulled apart by whatever, the two friends find her and says "now that's just stretching it." What the hell! Wouldn't you be freaking out that A) your friend was stretched that far and B) is still talking and C) her arms haven't ripped off.

Oh, and the kid and teacher having relations is just disturbing. "Something's leaking." "That's supposed to happen." ... "I'm on fire." "Me too, I'm so hot." "No, I'm really on fire!" *camera moves to her foot, which is on fire*

If you are bored and want to laugh at such a terrible piece of work, rent this movie and watch it with some friends.

There's a difference between satyrical and stupid
Zbigniew_Krycsiwiki29 February 2012
How is it possible to screw up a movie involving girls in school uniforms and killings?

Somehow the producers of the movie figured out a way. A van-load of high-school girls who appear to be in their mid 20s run out of gas on a desert road and a hockey mask wearing redneck tow-truck driver tows them and their van to his garage, where deaths and other strange things being to happen. One girl is killed in a car compactor, another has an air pump shoved down her throat causing her to explode, a guy gets it up the ass from a forklift(!) and it's unclear if the inbred, redneck tow-truck-driver is responsible. Since many of the nighttime scenes were obviously filmed through a dark blue filter, it is easy to understand why the killer's identity might be unclear, ... but the final twist is actually revealed in the film's trailer. Any attempts at actual horror were given away in the film's trailer (it reveals the deaths of several main characters, as well as giving away the entire twist ending!)

If it was supposed to be a satire, lame double-entendres and obvious setups (guy with crutches, taking away the cellphones) sink this from the start. And film's soundtrack sounds like someone farting uncontrollably.

It might be worth a few unintended laughs to watch this once, and to check out the so-so looking girls, but anything more is asking too much.

A Total Waste of Time
daveym496423 October 2003
I bought this at Wherehouse Music for $6 and its not worth 6 cents. i would have returned but it was a going out of business purchase so i ended up giving it away to my fiance's parents. They hated it also and are trying to find someone else to take it off their hands. It's another in a long line of "spoofs" of horror movies, it tries to be funny and tongue in cheek but its just total garbage, don't waste your time watching this.

Not a Good Movie
tripped_d26 May 2004
When I rented this, I was all ready for a good old-fashioned, old-school hack fest. Alas, I was bitterly disappointed.

I obviously didn't rent this movie for good acting or a believable plot. But I do require gore, and if there are going to be lots of hot women, I need a little gratuitous nudity. I got neither! A couple glops of fake blood and two women making out was it.

The film tries to overcome all of these dire shortfalls with comedy- sort of a mish-mash of gags and jokes paying homage to the horror genre as a whole. I chuckled a couple times, but they were the kind of chuckles that slip out when you are desperately seeking to be entertained.

Don't bother with this one. 2/10

Pleasant surprise
Given the low IMDB user rating, I went into this horror-comedy with rather minimal expectations, but found this to be an entertaining movie, albeit extremely cheesy. This was clearly designed to be an absurd direct-to-video release--not something to be taken seriously, but to be enjoyed for its aloofness. And it certainly is aloof, but with plenty amusing one-liners and quips.

That old horror film cliche of young, sex-starved students stranded in an unfamiliar setting is used, with classmates from an all girls school, en route to a dance, breakdown and get picked off one by one at a large, isolated junkyard. We have all the standard caricatures, with the confrontational prude Parker (Brittany Montgomery), the blonde bimbo Honey (Priscilla Ross), the bashful virgin Shay (Gloria Balding), the lipstick lesbian Candy (Missy Weinger), the goth girl Star (Nicole Andris) and the mysterious new girl Monique (Anna Florence). The girls bicker and in-fight, but must put aside their differences if they want to survive the night.

STORY $$: No new ground is charted with the story, but some witty dialogue sprinkled throughout the film gives this more character than you'd expect. One example is when the girls feel they should stick together for safety's sake, they all go to the bathroom, and the boy-obsessed Honey can't go with others watching, to which Shay the virgin quips, "I should think you wouldn't have any problems performing with your panties around your ankles." The storyline gives us plenty of suspects, with the awkward junkyard proprietor Hank (Jon Sayles), and any one of the students could be the killer, as well as their chaperone Miss Beaver (Tara Thomson) and their bus driver Beaumont (Drew Droege).

ACTING $$$: Surprisingly good, all around. Each young actress does a solid job lampooning their cliched character. Gloria Balding is effectively shy and uncultured as the never-been-touched Shay, while Priscilla Ross is equally effective as the touched-by-many Honey. Brittany Montgomery is quite commanding as the uppity, off-putting Parker and Tara Thomson is solid as the repressed Miss Beaver. Missy Weinger stands out as the spoiled daddy's-little-girl whose sexual proclivities are the worst kept secret at school.

NUDITY: None. This could be the reason for the low user rating on this site. Fans of cheesy B-horror comedies often expect some skin, a la Barbara Crampton in the classic RE-ANIMATOR, but aside from the short skirts and some underwear modeling, there's nothing titillating here.

Bloody Good Show!
htbdynick3 August 2003
I don't know what's gotten into my wife lately. When we first got married, she didn't like me working with other girls, didn't like it when women were naked on TV, and hated the exploitation movies I rented. Then in the past couple of months, we went out with a group of friends and she thought it would be fun for us all to go to the local strip joint (she even through dollars at the stage), she's been nice and laid back in the evenings when it comes to sleazy TV, and she rented this movie and brought it home! It was awesome!

This movie is pure cheese and it maintains a certain sexuality level without going overboard. It's funny stuff with some creative death scenes, and one hell of a twist ending. While I must admit, some of the padding at the beginning of the movie made me wonder what I was getting into, by the end of the movie I was glad I'd watched.

If you rent the DVD, DO NOT watch the trailer for the movie included in the menu before you see the movie. Not only does it show each death scene -- it also gives away the numerous twists at the end! Beware!

Great cast, fun movie. Go check it out!

Bloody Good Show, I say!
duntrune30 November 2003
Our "starlets" are all cuties in the extreme (Shay, whatta doll!), our plot is rather weak and transparent, our effects are rather on the cheesy side, but hey, a buncha incredibly cliched schoolgirls are on their way to the "big dance", their van breaks down, and mayhem ensues. Lotsa exploitive laughs, no real skin, some cheesy girl on girl action, and we have a halfbaked, but darn tootin' funny flick. Highlights include the actress playing Parker, who is far and away the best thing talent wise here, our hick rescuer who exudes some rather goofy charm in his bumbling, and our innocent Shay, who looks like an escapee from the Facts of Life, but is charming nonetheless. Our lowlights include badgirl Star, sluttygirl Honey, and the driver who you were rooting for to be an early victim. If you watch with your tongue firmly in cheek, you'll enjoy it, if you have high hopes of a great thriller, you're gonna be sooooo disappointed.

so good at being so awful
crueltwistoffate5 September 2005
Low budget horror there's different types but the main one is low budget (where the film could still pass for a real film)and then there's low-low budget which almost means no budget(where everything's just as crappy as the cheap as their home video look). But sometimes these films are some of the worst and should never be seen by anyone but also...sometimes there's also a fun treat. This is Scream Bloody Murder...god, this film is badly acted, badly shot, badly edited and stupid as hell but you know what...I actually liked it. I know it's weird but I found this flick fun as hell and had me watching amazed that was actually liking it. What I found most fun and really saved the flick was the script. I actually found it kinda of smart and funny and could easily tell what they were aiming for....cheap, funny horror that doesn't try to be anything that it isn't. So I liked how they actually went all out with that and made fun of themselves by being so beyond stupid that it worked. I found the script to be really smart for the most part but there were moments so stupid in the flick that I didn't know if they were actually written like that or just thought up on the day of shooting. First while most of the people in this film are bad actors there were a few surprises...first Brittany Montgomery as Parker was so great a being a bitch(i loved her) and I actually liked Gloria Balding as shay who okay as the dorky nerd. Then a couple of the other girls had some really good moments but for the most parts the girls did what they had to do thanks to bad directing. Everyone else was plain awful. But they all die so it's okay. Then some of these girls would have been so much more pleasing to eye for the camera if they would have had been made up a little. God, all the girls here look like they just walked off the street looking normal and plain. It's suppose to be a freaking movie, dress them girls up a bit yo!This movie would have been so much better and really have fit the script(without having to go all beyond stupid because of it's lack of money) with a bigger budget because the crappy look of the flick is what really kills it...besides it's bad acting and lack of nudity. Come on give us break, if your gonna make a really, and I mean really crappy movie with bad everything then at least show some nudity. It's the least they could do. For script that was made to be done on a low budget they could have at least done this once they found out how no budget this film was going to be. Acouple of boobs would have really made this film that much better. But this film wasn't a total waste, trust me after being burnt by other kind of these films(Scarecrow slayer) that just plain sucked this film was actually kinda good at being really awful.

My Rating: It's kinda hard to say, this flick was really that good but good at being that if you know what I mean...and it didn't get me mad like Mr and Mrs Smith and Prom Night did which I hated a lot more than this flick. So I'm gonna have to give it a very happy A GOOD FLICK. If it would have had a budget that fit a creative script and some damn boobs then it would have gotten a better rating.

Deliberately Silly, Horror Cheeeze...
azathothpwiggins20 June 2022
A vanload of female students breaks down in the middle of absolutely nowhere. Luckily, a helpful hillbilly shows up with his tow truck. The vulnerable young girls are whisked back to the "End Of The Road" garage and salvage yard where things spiral hopelessly out of control.

SCREAM BLOODY MURDER is a non-scary, somewhat humorous horror movie parody that hits as much as it misses. When compared with other, far more expensive productions featuring similar subject matter, it's actually not too bad.

Is it dumb? Yes, but at least it seems to know how dumb it is, while making the most of its microscopic budget...
