I have a feeling some Southerners might be a tad offended by this....but I sure thought it was funny

Warning: Spoilers
My in-laws live in the hills of Tennessee and I am sure if they knew what a DVD was, they'd be really offended if they could see this short film. It's a short that definitely pokes fun of hillbillies--complete with all the stereotypes.

The film purports to be a documentary about a guy who MUST dance. And so, he spends every minute dancing so long as there is music. He's seen dancing in church, down the road, around the house--everywhere. Now, it's unfortunate that he totally sucks--but still, he loves dancing. Similarly, there's a guy who MUST make music. He plays his banjo all the time and when this is taken away from him, he immediately starts playing spoons, clapping his hands,...whatever it takes to make music. However, what will happen when these two titans of stupidity meet? Which one will give up first? There are lots of jokes--most of which are very low-brow. Lots of comments about in-breeding and other nastiness make this laugh out loud funny--but also very tacky.

Exceptionally funny and well made. The only negative, and it's a small one, is that the final "revelation" isn't any surprise at all--it's pretty obvious if you are paying attention to the film.

I have worked with Ian Harris (writer/director) in many capacitites over the years and seen him grow as a filmmaker. Dual is my favorite of his films. It's heartwarming and extremely funny. The talent level and story telling is superb. It's a smart, yet somewhat silly story of fate, and well, let's say dumb luck, shot in the news magazine/mock-doc sort of style, that Ian has become so well versed at. I'd highly recommend Dual to anyone who gets the chance to see it.
