London, Oct 7: Rapper Snoop Dogg will star as the father in a family sitcom for NBC, which he has developed with producer Don Reo.

This is not the first time he is venturing into acting. The 39-year-old has earlier worked in a sketch show 'Doggy Fizzle Televizzle' for MTV, and appeared in reality show 'Snoop Dogg's Father Hood' for E!.

Snoop is also planning to launch a TV talent show to find potential stars from deprived areas.

Snoop Dogg is bringing, acting talents to NBC, where the multi-platinum rapper has just sold a family comedy he's slated to produce and star in. Snoop developed the series with "My Wife and Kids" creator Don Reo, who will serve as the show's writer and executive-producer. Rapper Snoop Dogg is in talks to star in a new family sitcom. The Gin and Juice hitmaker will play the father in the show, which is being developed with producers at Warner Bros, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
