Incorrectly regarded as goofs
While explaining the importance of the lantern outside the treasure room Patrick Gates incorrectly states that a Thomas Newton hung the lanterns in the Old North Church for Paul Revere to see. The name of the church sexton that hung the two lanterns was Robert Newman. However, this is part of a ruse. Realizing that Shaw is British and may not be well versed in American history, Gates decides to send him on a wild goose chase. The incorrect name is obviously a test to see if Shaw would fall for the ruse and go to the Old North Church, thus sparing their lives.Share this
