Storyline

In the not so distant future, man has finally done the unthinkable. Global nuclear war has destroyed nearly everything on the planet. Derek (Leaman), a survivor fearful of the outside, learns of the world's "progress" through news bulletins while barricaded away from what's left of civilization. But, even though the war is over...the nightmare is just beginning. A mysterious virus has risen from the wreckage as a by-product of the weapons used in the attack. Those infected are...changing. Soon, Derek will come face to face with a terror so horrible, he'll wish he never survived the war. Written by Robert Harari

Trivia

Producers Jason and Robert wanted to shoot exteriors of a "post apocolyptic nature" but there wasn't enough money in the budget to create any. So instead they took a small crew to the town of Centralia, Pennsylvania, which was damaged by an underground coal mine fire which started burning in the 1960s and still burns today. See more »

Bradbury should be proud

To say that this is a fresh piece of filmmaking would be an understatement. Contino takes the surreal sci-fi genre to a new level, one that is even above and beyond that of "28 Days Later." A thrilling, involved, and relevant film.
