Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

a man licks a woman's face and he tries to rape her

Violence & Gore

strong graphic.

Some of the worst (might contain spoilers, but this describes explicit details): Men kill and then cook and then eat Hannibal's sister (we only see the men getting ready to kill her taking her outside, then flash to a cauldron with a man tasting the contents)

After a meat stand guy gets rough with Hannibal's gf, Hannibal later tracks the guy down and slices him up with a sword (we see him slice the man's belly and blood start to pour). After killing the guy he opens his pack takes out a fish and he says something undistinguished but contently. Later, we see the guy's head.

A guy is given some injection to make him remember. Hannibal sees this a bit later in the scene and asks what's going on. When the police tell him, he waits until no one's looking and then takes the drugs to use on himself so he can remember the people that killed his sister.

Hannibal ties a guy up to a tree, connects the rope to a horse and then moves the horse forward squashing the guy to death. Blood sprays on Hannibal's face, he wipes it off, and licks it.

Hannibal knocks a guy out and then puts him into an air support lift like device and drops him into a water tank. He sprays him first and then later closes the tank up. The tank fills with water drowning the guy.

Hannibal creates a diversion (with a wet latex glove, so when it drips an explosion occurs) to try and kill this other guy. I think later the same guy....

He tortures very badly before killing (after promising he'd make it quick) by biting his face and carving an M on his chest.

Hannibal goes to the last killer to collect his head (we don't see anything happen here though)

Profanity

A few F-words, and some other mild and derogatory language. Nothing too extreme since this is set several years back.

smoking and drinking

a lot throughout.

This film is very unpleasant (much more than the other Hannibal films). There are several disturbing scenes like, Hannibal torturing his victims before killing them by making them sing a song. They do quivering and Hannibal taunts he can't hear them.

Hannibal while at a boys home has nightmares about his sister. When he makes noises in his sleep the orderlies take him and make him sleep in the basement.
