A highly unusual BBC children's TV series in which the content of episodes bore little or no relation to the concept behind the show. Each episode features an alien magician called Wizbit, who is a large, talking, yellow magicians hat. Wizbit has come to Earth for a year and a day from the planet WOW (World of Wizards) to learn about life on our world. However, each episode is set in the magical town of Puzzleopolis - a town inhabited by talking, singing and dancing playing cards, magic wands, dice and sponge balls. Successful British magician Paul Daniels is the manager of the town's theatre and introduces each episode. Wizbit and his friend Wooly (a 7ft tall rabbit) solve puzzles and foil the evil schemes of Professor Doom, the villain who lives in a castle perched on top of a floating rock in the shape of a clenched fist that hovers above the town. What the hell was that all about???

What I remember most of Wizbit is a big yellow wizard's hat sort of thing called 'Wizbit' with a whinny voice and hands that make far too many hand gestures for my liking. His best friend a giant rabbit is best summed up as a cross between Lennie Small from John Steinbeck's Of Mice & Men and the evil rabbit in Donnie Darko.

If you get a chance to see 'Wizbit' don't bother
