It's all about being "business in the front, party in the back" when it comes to the Mullet brothers, two siblings who sport the same haircut, but are actually very different from one another.

Storyline

The Mullets are blue-collar, wrestling-loving, light-hearted, optimistic brothers who don the hairstyle that bears their surname ("business in the front, party in the back"). The 20-something brothers, who sport identical mullet haircuts, are actually a study in contrast. Dwayne Mullet has a loud, in-your-face demeanor, while Denny Mullet is a quieter, more thoughtful, easygoing guy. Their mother Mandi Mullet-Heidecker, a warm maternal type who couldn't be more proud of her offspring, no matter what they do, recently married Roger Heidecker, a clean-cut game show host who is the polar opposite of her boys and her former life. The siblings live life to the fullest while dreaming of bigger and better futures, though their fantasies are out of step with their reality. Written by Bubba

Quotes

Denny: Those '84 Camaros could fly!
Dwayne: It's an '85.
Denny: No, it's an '84.
Dwayne: Check out the hood scoops, and the rear window molding, so it's an '85.
Denny: There's no fog lights on the front bumper, so it's an '84.
[The Camaro comes crashing into the front door]
Denny: Told you it was an '84.

Finally back on the air!
14 March 2004 | by See all my reviews

After a long hiatus, THE MULLETS is back and better than ever. Wednesday's episode, titled "Losin' It", was the best episode yet, partly thanks to a great guest appearance by Thomas F. Wilson (Biff in the BACK TO THE FUTURE movies). What separates THE MULLETS from almost every other sitcom on television is that it is actually funny. It isn't the best show in the world, but it is one of the better comedies currently on television.

The show revolves around two twenty-something brothers, Dwayne and Danny Mullet, who own their own contracting and roofing company. Dwayne is muscular and loud while Danny is more quiet and thoughtful. What an odd couple! Being a sitcom, the two brothers naturally find themselves in wacky situations every episode.

The supporting cast is better than you would expect for a show like this. There is John O'Hurley and Loni Anderson (both funny in their own right), as well as such regulars as Ben Tolpin and Anne Stedman.

My rating: 8/10
