As one of Hollywood’s most successful comedic actors, Will Arnett has a slew of celebrity friends. But one of them just might take the crown!

During an appearance on The Late Late Show on Friday, the Arrested Development star revealed that he is pals with Prince Harry.

“We actually have a mutual friend over there in the U.K.,” Arnett, 47, told James Corden. “His name is Harry, he’s a redhead. Prince Harry, that’s right. I couldn’t think of his first name!”

The two apparently got to know one another “very briefly” a little while ago — and »

First of all, yeah, we’re excited that another season of Arrested Development will be in production soon.  Second of all, yeah, we’re kind of psyched that Will Arnett is insisting the show will be going back to its roots.  Third of all, with all of the waiting and anticipating we’ll all be doing for yet another potentially great season of Arrested Development, let the nostalgia begin. Will Arnett has a solution for the oft-reported division in America, and it starts with a woman playing the harmonica with a tarantula in her mouth. Yes, really.

The 47-year-old actor serves as executive producer and judge on ABC's The Gong Show, a revival of the beautifully bizarre amateur talent competition, which ran originally in the late 1970s with host Chuck Barris.

Orson Welles Fools a Community in Trailer for ‘Brave New Jersey’

19 June 2017 5:55 AM, PDT | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

The first trailer has landed for Brave New Jersey, the cheekily-titled comedy that finds Arrested Development and Veep star Tony Hale as Clark Hill, one of many who experienced the now-legendary day where Orson Welles’ broadcast War of the Worlds over radio waves in 1938 and started a hysteria of massive proportions. Helmed by first time director Jody Lambert (who penned People Like Us), Brave New Jersey seems to be about the lies we believe, and the fun you might end up having along the way.

We said in our review, “Part of the pleasure is the film’s superb production design by Chloe Arbiture and art direction by Jonathan Bell, who have crafted an authentic and clean pre-World War II look that is a simple yet gorgeous. Before They Were Blockbuster Directors: 8 TV Episodes by the People Behind 2017’s Biggest Films

Newswire: Judy Greer to quietly be the best part of Richard Linklater’s Where’d You Go, Bernadette

15 June 2017 8:57 PM, PDT | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

Richard Linklater has added a cinematic secret weapon to his latest comedy, Where’d You Go, Bernadette, with Deadline reporting that actress Judy Greer has joined the cast. Greer is something of a favorite around here, injecting shows like Arrested Development and Archer with a comic chaos that rarely gets to shine in the “main character’s best friend” roles she so often gets saddled with in mainstream fare.

That doesn’t seem to a problem with Bernadette, which tells the story of a woman (Cate Blanchett) who goes missing, leaving her husband and daughter to go seeking after her. Greer will play Dr. Kurtz, the “brutally honest” operator of a rehab center that prides itself on telling its occupants the hard truths. We can just imagine what kind of icy crazy Greer will bring to the part when she joins the film’s cast, which also includes Billy Crudup »

How Tom Hanks Helped Brian Grazer Deal With His First Emmy Win

15 June 2017 11:45 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

After producing hit movies for a decade, Brian Grazer got his first blue-chip TV credit in 1998 on HBO’s “From the Earth to the Moon.” On the heels of Grazer and partner Ron Howard’s Oscar-nominated “Apollo 13,” the show offered a finely detailed look at the early space program. It had the trappings of a big-budget film and a cast headed by Tom Hanks — novelties at a time when the big and small screens seldom mixed. The show’s win for miniseries kicked off a fertile TV phase for Grazer, who went on to produce such shows as “24,” “Arrested Development” and “Friday Night Lights.” This year, he and Howard are back in the hunt with National Geographic’s Albert Einstein limited series “Genius.

Because you produced some television early on, did you go to the Emmys before 1998?

I did, but not as a nominee. I was way out there in the peripheral seats.

Big-Screen Directors Relish Small-Screen Opportunities

14 June 2017 10:15 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

There’s a new rejoinder in Hollywood: “But what I really want to do is direct television.”

Established directors with nothing left to prove on the feature side have been flocking to the smaller screen at an accelerating pace, a migration reflected in the crowded Emmy race for director. Everyone from up-and-coming indie specialists to venerable A-listers is benefiting from the influx of billions of dollars into original content production, especially on commercial-free and notes-averse streaming services. Freed to execute their visions in six or more hours instead of squeezing them into just two, they are gleefully hopping over what for decades used to be a virtually impermeable wall between feature film and episodic television.

“I really like what’s going on,” says Jean-Marc Vallée, who has segued from such films as “Wild” and “Dallas Buyers Club” to making his TV debuts on HBO series including “Big Little Lies” and the forthcoming “Sharp Objects.” “It »
