Storyline

A very basic look at the creation of the film What Lies Beneath (2000) that delves more into the film's director, Robert Zemeckis, than the movie itself. We are basically given information about Zemeckis' career with clips from his past films and interviews with actors who took part in his films. A look at the film's 'Hitchcock-esque' direction is also brought to our attention, to show how this thriller was pulled off. Written by Rhyl Donnelly

This is about What Lies Beneath?? You'd think so, but you'd be wrong
12 October 2005 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This 15 minute featurette on the making of "What Lies Beneath" can be found on the special edition DVD of the aforementioned movie. If you think nothing in-depth could be said about an over 2 hour film in merely 15 minutes, you'd be right and this feels much more like a promo piece than anything else. Plus whenever you have "Perfect" ANYthing in the title, it reeks of being full of itself. I mean the film was good, but 'the perfect thriller'??? Come on now, nowhere close. This goes more into Robert Zemeckis' film career than anything else. With the film it was supposed to be based on seeming like an afterthought.
