According to Esquire Magazine, Dave Chappelle was offered a role.
Captain Mack's resume shows his "Relevant Experience" as: "275 Hours Flight Simulation (with honors)", "Beat F-15 Flying Eagle on X-Box (twice)", and "Saw Top Gun 7 Times."
The set used for the plane had previously been used for the interior shots of the plane in Lost (2004).
Kevin Hart is shorter than K.D. Aubert. In many scenes Hart had to stand on a box so their height difference wasn't so obvious.
The first film to be distributed using Eastman Kodak's method of storing the soundtrack on a thin layer of cyan dye in the film instead of on a magnetic or optical track.
