The 2003 Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films wrapped up its seven-day run Monday, handing out 21 awards in 13 categories, while the fourth annual Silver Lake Film Festival concluded by honoring Betty Blowtorch and her Amazing True Life Adventures, by director Anthony Scarpa, with its audience award and Olivier Assayas' demonlover with its narrative feature award. Most, directed by Bobby Garabedian, won the best of festival nod at Palm Springs, and Andrij Parekh picked up the future filmmaker award for Dead Roosters. The Palm Springs fest also doled out five special jury prizes and three audience favorites Sunday at an awards gala at the Riviera Resort in Palm Springs.
