Storyline

Rico Amonte was brought out to LA by his older brother Angelo, a detective in the LAPD Robbery/Homicide Division. He is now in his first year, learning to become a professional police officer, and it's up to Senior Deputy Barnes to teach him the ropes. Their vastly different backgrounds give them opposing points of view on how to police the streets. Amonte's irreverent style can get the job done, but usually not in the way Barnes would call standard procedure. The other training officers are Senior Deputy Matt Jablonski and Senior Deputy Ryan Layne. Jablonski is partnered with Trainee Gabriella Lopez, a young Latina from East LA. Layne's partner is Trainee Chase Williams, a recent law school grad eager to acquire street experience before he becomes a D.A. Written by van_whistler@hotmail.co.uk

Quotes

McDowell: I never would have pulled the trigger if that's what you're after.
Senior Deputy John Henry Barnes: I know you wouldn't, I could see it in your eyes. One thing you should know, though, when you go to such lengths to make a statement is never contradict that statement before you've made it.
McDowell: What do you mean?
Senior Deputy John Henry Barnes: Calling names can do serious damage to people, just as it did to your grandchild.
McDowell: I know.
Senior Deputy John Henry Barnes: And you went in there to teach those kids a lesson they'd never forget. Then when a janitor shows up you mock him, his station in ...

You have the right to remain silent...

I've watched many of the police dramas since I was a child in the 70's and this was a decent show for something current. The acting is good and the premise is promising. But, why does ABC hate this show?

The rookie kid, Amonte, is a good hearted thug from the East. The veteran Sarge is a rough, by the book cop who handles his family the sme way. It is better than that old show, The Rookies, with Ontkean, et al. Hudson adds charm to his character, and Nucci brings in his freshness to the small screen here. I love it. The other guys on the show are fun and great to look at - no doubt in that. This show has it all; political correctness, a diverse cast, current themes, and yet ABC is submerging it into the trash. Disney, of all studios, should be backing this show 110%. I love Disney.

If there is a way to save this show, and you like it, we should try and do something......
