Interesting short film about the behind-the-scenes bickering and politics of a TV News Show. One of the Beat Reporters for the News Show gets a break to be the substitute co-anchor when the regular guy is injured due to a DUI (according to station gossip). The other co-anchor resents the new guy and wants his nephew to be the fill-in host instead. The two co-anchors spend the show sniping at each other, and the veteran guy tries to get the rookie to screw-up so he will get fired. The two co-anchors both over-act for their roles, and the "rookie" Mike McColl definitely went to the Bill Shatner School of Ham. This was a College Production and it looks like one. The story however is a lot better than the acting. It shows the dark side of a prima-donna star News Anchor and a young soon-to-be prima-donna, and they are both ugly people. When the show is over, the rookie feels triumphant but he finds that nobody likes him anymore, just like nobody likes the other guy (so he has succeeded?). Good story, it has been covered before in some feature length movies.
