It was a night this NCIS agent will always remember and an episode you won't forget.
So CBS promises in its newest promo for next week's NCIS episode, "Housekeeping." Unfortunately for Tony Dinozzo, the memories are anything but good, and the case in question is far from over.
The first NCIS promo for January 3 teased the return of Sarah Jane Morris as E.J. Barrett, and of Scott Wolf as Agent Stratton. Now, a slightly longer version offers some new clips from the episode.
E.J's reappearance forces Dinozzo to confront his past once again, as the investigation into the murder of a Navy Commander leads NCIS to her whereabouts. Meanwhile, Stratton has unfinished business.
How will this play out? Check out the extended teaser below and see what you think ...

NCIS returns next week with its first episode of 2012, and the first since September's Season 9 premiere to address the mysterious Phantom Eight storyline that almost resulted in Tony's demise.
In "Nature of the Beast," Scott Wolf's Agent Stratton was exposed as a villain with more than one identity and serious, ulterior motives. Wolf is back January 3, as is Sarah Jane Morris.
E.J's (Morris') reappearance may force Dinozzo to confront his past once again, according to CBS, as the investigation into the murder of a Navy Commander leads NCIS to her whereabouts.
How will that play into Stratton's plan to eliminate everyone who saw him gun down an NCIS agent? Is her relationship with Tony now strained beyond repair? We'll find out Tuesday at 8.

She faced some brutal opposition over the last month — and vanquished six butt-kicking babes in hand-to-hand combat in the process — but NCIS‘ Ziva David ultimately reigned victorious (and absolutely gorgeous) at the end of our Ultimate Female Law-Enforcement Crushes Bracket Tournament.
Indeed, it’s time to congratulate tough, sexy Ziva — and her portrayer, Cote de Pablo — for taking home the top prize in our 64-player, single-elimination tourney, which tallied nearly 1 million votes from start to finish. Ziva’s win bookends that of her star-crossed sparring partner/crush, Tony Dinozzo, who won TVLine’s Ultimate Male Law-Enforcement Crushes Tourney last month, »

Following a mysterious appearance on the NCIS Season 9 premiere, Scott Wolf has not been seen or heard from since, but he will be back on the show in its first episode of 2012, according to reports.
If you recall, Wolf played Stratton ... if that's even his real name.
As part of the Phantom Eight storyline, he was working with Latham, head of the Oni's Watcher Fleet. The extent of their machinations wasn't overtly explained, but thanks to Mike Franks (Rip), Gibbs knows the uber-secret agent was (and is) involved in the selling of state secrets contained in the infamous microchip.
That microchip almost got Dinozzo killed - more than once.
Fortunately, Tony survived, but in the new year, “Stratton intends to finish what he started and influence some unexpected lives in the process,” executive producer Gary Glasberg tells TV Line, “including Gibbs’.”
In addition to Wolf, Sarah Jane Morris also returns »

Scottie Thompson teams up with Kathy Najimy for the (surprisingly funny) new holiday thriller! With credits like NCIS and Trauma under her belt, Scottie Thompson is used to kicking butt and taking names -- but she tells HollywoodLife.com that her next assignment is a bit "less harrowing" than she's accustomed to. In TNT's Deck the Halls, premiering Dec. 20 at 9 p.m., she plays Regan Reilly, a detective whose father has been kidnapped during the holidays. "It's a Christmas story that gives you a bit of a scare to remind you the important part of the holiday is family," she says. The lighter side of the story comes courtesy of Kathy Najimy, a cleaning-woman-turned-private-eye who teams up with Scottie's character to track down her father. "It was a ton of fun," Scottie says of working with Kathy. "She's so talented." And part of the reason Scottie loved acting alongside a »

Back in September, "NCIS" and "Burn Notice" actor David Dayan Fisher was locked up after allegedly choking a neighbor who hung swim towels on Fisher's fence. He was booked on felony battery charges.
Now, the charges have been dropped. Fisher struck a deal with prosecutors. He plead guilty to a much more minor disturbing the peace charge and was sentenced to pay a $50 fine -- but even that was written off by the judge.
"I was set on by a bully who asked for trouble and lost his fight. He then goes running to the teacher and spins his lies. This is the case," Fisher tells TMZ about the violent altercation. "I have not punched someone since I was at school. That was 27 years ago. This seems to be an instant karmic justice for a bully." »

NCIS star David Fisher has escaped a felony battery charge after agreeing to plead "no contest" to disturbing the peace and pay a $50 (£31) fine.
The actor was arrested in September following a violent altercation with another resident in his Los Angeles apartment block.
Fisher was accused of choking his neighbour, but he pleaded not guilty to the charge last month.
On Thursday, prosecutors agreed to drop the battery charge if Fisher paid a fine and pleaded "no contest" to a much more minor disturbing the peace charge.
The Brit was pleased with the outcome, telling TMZ.com it was "instant karmic justice" for his neighbour.
Fisher says, "I was set on by a bully who asked for trouble and lost his fight. He then goes running to the teacher and spins his lies. This is the case.

Our NCIS review broke down this week's episode of TV's #1 show in great detail.
Now, TV Fanatic staff members Steve Marsi, Matt Richenthal and Eric Hochberger have assembled for a weekly Round Table Q&A discussion of events from the Christmas-themed "Newborn King."
Join in below, as we analyze various aspects of Tony Jr., Tony Sr., and more ...
----------------------------------
Describe this episode in one word.
Steve: Moving.
Matt: Predictable.
Eric: Cheesy. Wonderful. Yes, I cheated, but it was equal parts both!
What was your favorite quote or scene?
Steve: Gibbs and Dinozzo in the basement at the end. "Newborn King" would have been completely fine without it, but at the same time, it really made the whole episode for me. Seeing that Gibbs remains so close to Mike's daughter and granddaughter, but also looks out for Tony as a father-like figure in a different way - even if it means »

In the spirit of Christmas, we'll forgive NCIS this one.
It's not that "Newborn King" was a bad episode, but it felt like an entirely different show. The holiday theme was almost overblown at times, and there was a high level of (often predictable) cheesiness throughout, a far cry from some of the uber-serious, superbly well-written episodes this and every season.
But, what can I say, it's the holiday season, and it still worked for me. Why?
Marine Lt. Emma Reynolds (guest star Erin Cottrell) for one. Aside from initially locating her, there wasn't much mystery to her case - she was being stalked (hunted, really) because, after becoming pregnant by an Afghan soldier, she carried the potential heir to a key tract of land in Afghanistan that the Dod needed for a highway.
This was pretty much spelled out for us right away, and needless to say, a little far-fetched. »
