Thank God For Independent Film
22 May 2009 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

After suffering through Wolverine and Stra Trek (although I did like the actors in Trek) I caught this flick on accident. I recalled Roger Ebert giving it 4 stars, my hometown, life long sage critic. But I had seen a few blockbusters with my short attention span husband. But my girlfriend and I wanted to break away from all the explosions and what we got was a much bigger and better explosion in a much smaller movie. What I adored about the film is how it feels like every day real life, except slightly heightened. The things we all feel but don't know how to express until it's too late. On the posters it looks like a comedy, and it is, but don't be fooled. This is no ordinary comedy. It is extremely funny at times but it always reminds you that the humor isn't just there for cheap laughs. It exists because it is what we do when we live lies and work hard to keep our lives from changing too drastically. Explosive is the word I think best describes this mini indie film.
