Storyline

Hatya is an experience. Through the eyes of a child. A spine-chilling musical thriller, the film is about the turmoil of a deaf and dumb child, who witnesses a murder along with his mother, and is left alone after the mother is also killed. Raja escapes and is homeless. He sleeps on the footpaths. Fortunately he is picked up by Sagar, a painter who has already lost his wife and child. A sad man in life, Sagar finds the upbringing of Raja as his only motive in the life. But the killers are shadowing Raja, for they know that he is the only eyewitness to their death. Slowly Sagar comes to know about the whole murder story. But the clever moves of the killers implicate Sagar in the murder; and he is imprisoned. Sagar escapes from the jail, and un-ravels the murder mystery. Written by gavin@sunny_deol2009@yahoo.com

Nice, One of Govinda's best
8 April 2009 | by (India) – See all my reviews

This is Govinda's first big hit This is one of his watchable films and not his mindless comedies he did post 1990's though some were good

The film has a nice story and the moments between Govinda and the kid are adorable and slowly the film catches your attention

However the pace does move slowly and the story takes too long

The film is well handled and has comedy, emotions well balanced

Kirti Kumar does a great job handling the film

Music is okay, though too many songs

Govinda those days wasn't considered a good actor but he surprised He acts restrained unlike in most films and gives a mature performance Neelam is okay, Johny Lever is loud Anupam Kher is okay the kid is adorable
