Based on the album of the same name, these are the music videos of Saturday morning cartoon themes performed by alternative/modern rock groups such as Violent Femmes, The Reverend Horton Heat, Collective Soul, & Liz Phair. Some cover songs are pretty awesome, including Ramones souped up version of "Spider-Man", Helmet's searing "Gigantor", Matthew Sweet's brilliant "Scooby Doo, Where Are You"--which was too good for the live action movies it seems, and veteran band Butthole Surfers' dramatic "Underdog." Some that are subpar include Sponge's "Speed Racer" and Sublime doing the obscure "Hong Kong Phooey" song.
Don't waste time watching this video special, cuz it isn't all that special. It's just a bunch of show clips intercut with the bands lip synching. One exception is seeing the Ramones with clips of the 60s Spider-Man show. Buy the CD then some other time watch the shows on Boomerang, Cartoon Network or DVD.
