Mexican Film Industry Reacts to Sean Penn-El Chapo Interview

Did anything happen in Mexico over the last few days except for the recapture of “El Chapo” and Sean Penn’s interview? If so, it was hardly getting much play late Sunday and early Monday from the Spanish-speaking media.

Mexican newspaper El Universal led with a special – “Kate, Sean, El Chapo Links – Documented” plus six Penn-hostile columns; Spain’s El Pais America edition dedicated all its top eight online stories to El Chapo’s detention and interview.

'Elvis and Nixon' Trailer: Shannon and Spacey Become Legends

8 January 2016 1:19 PM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

For decades, the most requested photo from the National Archives is an image featuring a meeting between music icon Elvis Presley and President Richard Nixon in 1970. The story of this iconic meeting has finally made it to the big screen in the new movie Elvis & Nixon, with IMDb revealing the first trailer. The trailer debut is especially significant, since today is Elvis Presley's birthday.

Elvis & Nixon tells the story about Elvis Presley (Michael Shannon) visiting President Richard Nixon (Kevin Spacey) at the White House in December of 1970. The meeting was initiated by Presley, who wrote Nixon a six-page letter requesting a visit and suggesting that he be made a 'Federal Agent-at-Large' in the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. Presley brought with him family photos and a Colt 45 pistol as a personal gift to the President.
